Chapter 13
Recently, Lenora had the rare luxury of leisure and happily stayed home as a couch potato. However, just after two days of lazing around, she was coerced into attending a gala by Cassidy.
As soon as she entered the venue, she ran into an old acquaintance.
“Oh my, isn’t this my sister–in–law? Oh, no, I forgot, you’re not my sister–in–law anymore” Carla’s sarcastic voice drew many
eyes
But Lenora only calmly looked at her. “Is there something you need, Ms. Brandt?”
“No. I’m just curious about what you’ve done to get the invitation Today’s dinner party has invited some very prominent figures. Who did you cling to as a money–grubbing woman to get in Carla’s voice tinged with sarcasm.
Hobart City wasn’t particularly small, but the people within the same circle were limited in number. Most guests at such at party were from the upper echelon, and those now watching eagerly for Lenora’s humiliation were almost the same as those who stepped on and insulted her during those three years.
As the eldest daughter of the Brandt farmily, Carla held considerable weight among the socialites. When she took the lead in ostracizing and bullying someone, many people eager to curry favor with the Brandt family naturally followed suit.
Lenora couldn’t help but sneer, pointing at Cassidy behind Carla “Well, you might want to ask M Richmond.
As the spokesperson, Cassidy was adorned in opulence today, exuding an imposing presence that caught many eyes the moment she entered.
From afar, Cassidy saw Lenora surrounded by people and Carla stirring up trouble again.
Enraged, Cassidy turned pale as she strode forward in her 4–inch heels, pushing through the crowd and shielding Lenora like a mother hen. She coldly glared down at Carla. “You got no right to comment on my friend
Cassidy’s words were like an invisible slap to Carla’s face. Her complexion turned pale as she struggled to say something However, Cassidy was a top–tier celebrity and the spokesperson for the jewelry brand. The brand would never in a million years ask her to leave.
Rumors within the industry suggested that Cassidy had significant backing from a powerful capital group, but despite years passing, no one had managed to uncover who this powerful figure was.
Couldn’t afford to offend Cassidy, Carla could only glare fiercely at Lenora
How did this woman manage to get close to Cassidy?” she cursed inwardly.
Lenora gave Carla a half smile, her gaze sweeping casually over the surprised faces around her. After picking up a glass of grape juice, she turned to leave the contentious circle.
Cassidy followed behind her. The chill on her face hadn’t yet faded, leaving no one daring to approach her along the way.
Lenora found a quiet comer and finally stopped. “Good for you. You look quite intimidating”
Without outsiders around, Cassidy changed drastically, smiling playfully at her. “Why are you dressed so simply today?”
Lenora only wore a black fitted slip dress and a pair of diamond earrings today, her long hair loosely draped over her shoulders.
In contrast, Cassidy’s long purple dress, though not ostentatious, was adorned with a string of diamond necklaces around her neck and wrists, along with her dangling tassel earrings, exuding a luxurious and noble aura.

Chapter 13
Lenora took a sip of her grape juice, her sexy eyes lazily glancing over at her, remaining silent.
הול
Cassidy yelped. “Being good–looking is such a privilege. Oh my god, Nora, don’t look at me like that. I don’t want to be gay!”
Lenora knew Cassidy was trying to cheer her up, so she just smiled at her.
“There’s an exhibition hall inside. Want to take a look?” Cassidy suggested.
Lenora knew that Cassidy had always been fond of these glittering and translucent jewels, her eyebrows twitching slightly. “Sure, it’s not like we have anything better to do.”
The brand had set up an exhibition hall at the venue of the banquet, showcasing the latest collections. With so many socialites and young ladies attending tonight, it could be considered a small exhibition.
“The jewelry inside the exhibition hall was obviously all from a series that ordinary people couldn’t afford. The cheapest. bracelet cost 50 thousand dollars, let alone the necklaces that were priced at hundreds of thousands or even millions of
dollars.
Lenora wasn’t as passionate about jewelry as Cassidy, coming along purely to accompany her. The exhibition hall was crowded, and Cassidy maintained a cool persona in public. Watching her restrain herself. Lenora found it more interesting than the jewelry.
“Katelyn, this necklace suits you so well. It’s practically tailor–made for you!” Carla’s voice suddenly sounded. It wasn’t loud, but she was just three display cases away, so Lenora and Cassidy heard it clearly.
Seeing Katelyn, Cassidy lost all interest in the jewelry, pulling Lenora over immediately.
“Is this necklace pretty? Cassidy glanced at the necklace inside the display case, asking Lenora “casually.”
Lenora looked at the display case, slightly raising an eyebrow. “It’s okay,
“Do you like it! I’ll get one for you if you do, I heard there are only three made in total”
Lenora flicked her eyebrows, slightly lowering her head as if seriously pondering before finally saying. I don’t like it.”
Cassidy humphed. “Yeah, it looks nice, but you deserve better.”
Undeniably, Cassidy knew how to carry herself with poise in front of outsiders.
Her words would have been fine if spoken earlier, but just as Carla had finished saying it suited Katelyn, and Katelyn herself was showing some interest in the necklace, Cassidy suddenly pulled Lenora over and said that Lenora deserved better.
Carla’s face immediately darkened. Blindsided by Cassidy earlier, she couldn’t swallow this insult. “She deserves better? I think she deserves cheaper.”
Cassidy sneered, “Are you suggesting I can’t even pay for this necklace?”
Carla’s words were directed at Lenora, but unexpectedly, it was Cassidy who responded.
Cassidy certainly could afford the necklace, as the rumor had it that the endorsement fee alone was over 3 million dollars. -Buying this necklace was nothing to her.
“Ms. Richmond, Carla didn’t mean it,” Katelyn chimed in.
“Then tell me, what did she mean?” Cassidy insisted.
Katelyn’s face stiffened instantly, Cassidy showed no mercy, leaving her completely at a loss for words now.
