The moment those words left Shana’s mouth, Cyrus’s tense expression softened, and he returned to his usual calm, serene demeanor.
But Henry’s eyes darkened instantly, a dangerous aura radiating from him.
“Shana, Henry, I’ll be on my way,” Cyrus said.
“Goodbye.” Shana waved at him.
Cyrus gave her a small nod before turning to leave.
Immediately after, a hand grabbed Shana’s chin with a force that felt like it could crush her. The man yanked her face toward his.
With a barely restrained growl in her ear, he gritted his teeth and demanded, “Shana, look carefully, who do you think your man is? You’re turning away from me?”
Shana, already boiling with anger, flared up in response. She shoved him forcefully and shot back, “So what? I can’t stand that face of yours!”
Seeing that she didn’t have an ounce of guilt and even dared to challenge him, Henry’s hand trembled with fury. “What’s wrong with my face?”
Still pretending to be innocent? If they were handing out Oscars, he’d definitely deserve one for this performance!
Shana sneered, her voice dripping with disdain. “You know exactly what I mean.”
She was done wasting her breath on him. She didn’t want to work herself up, so she turned to leave.
But Henry grabbed her wrist again, pulling her back with force. To make sure she didn’t escape, he slammed her against the tree, trapping her in front of him.
He lowered his head to look at her, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes. “You’d better explain yourself clearly. Don’t go accusing me of things I didn’t do.”
The truth was right in front of him, and yet he was still accusing her of making things up?
He really knows how to argue with unreasonable logic!
Shana’s fury reached a boiling point and filled with the urge to slap him. She struggled against him, but his strength was too much for her. Her frustration was so intense, it felt like her head might explode.
She looked up at him, her pale cheeks flushed with anger, her dark eyes seeming to blaze with fire. “Fine. If you aren’t embarrassed, I have nothing to be afraid of. Henry, aren’t you just jealous of Dr. Grant?”
Henry’s body jolted in shock at her words.
His eyes flickered, betraying his surprise before he instinctively denied it. “Jealous? How could I be jealous?” he snapped.

B–but she was still his wife. And he wouldn’t allow her to stray outside the bounds of their marriage.
Especially not with Cyrus –
his buddy.
Shana wasn’t surprised at his denial. Staring at him, she took on a sarcastic tone. “Oh, of course, you’re not jealous. Perhaps I should have recorded your sour, spiteful face just now and showed it to you for a closer look.”
Henry’s face grew colder, and an uncontrollable restlessness surged inside him. He hated seeing her speak to him like that.
Shana didn’t notice his anger. She continued with her biting words. “Mr. Floyd, please stop being so petty. You’re over here cozying up to a homewrecker. Can’t you just leave Dr. Grant alone? Stop poking at his weaknesses. This is really beneath you!”
And it was hurtful, too.
Her last few words, however, were left unsaid. She didn’t want to shatter her last shred of dignity.
Henry was left stunned by her unexpected words.
So, she thought he was jealous of Cyrus over Kate?
For a moment, all Henry could think was that he wanted to crack open her skull and see how her mind could work in such twisted ways.
He sneered coldly, “Shana, do you know how you died in your past life?”
Shana didn’t understand why the conversation had suddenly taken this turn. She shrugged it off, answering lazily, “How did I die? Because I’m too beautiful?”
“You wish,” he replied with a faint smile. “You died because you were stupid!”
Shana exploded. What kind of twisted man had she married–someone who resorted to personal attacks whenever she exposed his dark side?
Fury filled her, and she swung a punch at him. She would kill him today.
Henry sneered in disdain, catching her punch with ease. He pressed her hand down on top of her head, holding her firmly in place. Shana, with her hands trapped, kicked him in the lower body with all her strength.
He anticipated her move, easily dodging and then trapping her leg between his. Now, Shana couldn’t move at all
“Is that all you’ve got?” he taunted. “You call that a fight? Are you trying to scratch me?”
The power imbalance between them infuriated Shana, How could he be so smug? Grinding her teeth, she leaned forward and bit into his wrist.
She bit hard, showing no mercy.

Just as Henry’s anger reached its peak and was about to have an outburst, his phone suddenly rang. He froze and glanced at the caller ID. Henry immediately tempered his fury, answering the call. Shana, seeing his reaction, knew it must be his true love calling. She suppressed the surge of jealousy rising inside her, deciding it was better to stay out of sight. She turned and started to walk away.
Before she could take two steps, Henry hung up and caught up to her. “Where are you going?”
Shana couldn’t take it anymore. “What, should I just stand here and listen to you flirt with your mistress? Aren’t you afraid I’ll go crazy and kill both of you?”
“Stop talking nonsense!” Henry glared at her. “It was grandpa’s call.”
Shana fell silent.
“He needs us to see him immediately.”
Shana’s anger faded, replaced by confusion. “Why the rush? What’s going on?”
“He didn’t say, but I’m worried about his health. We need to go right now.”
As Henry spoke, he quickly called Larry, instructing him to arrange a private jet.

After a hasty goodbye to Audrey, Shana and Henry hurried to the car and headed for the airport.
Even though they had temporarily called a truce, Shana couldn’t bring herself to be kind to Henry. She practically pressed herself against the car window, keeping as far away from him as possible.
Seeing this, Henry’s face darkened again.
The car was filled with tense silence,
Larry, sitting in the passenger seat, quietly popped a heart medication into his mouth. He couldn’t help but wonder–just yesterday, the boss had spent a fortune on a lavish reception for his wife, giving her and her grandmother plenty of respect. He couldn’t help but think to himself, They say, without resentment, no couple can truly be together. The ancients weren’t wrong.
The silence in the car was deafening. Suddenly, Shana’s phone buzzed, breaking the oppressive silence.
She unlocked the screen, seeing a WhatsApp message from Cyrus.
He was Duncan’s attending physician. Could something have happened to Duncan?
Shana’s heart fell, and she hurriedly opened the message.
