My face turned red in an instant. “Y–Yes, I know!” I stammered, completely surprised and
embarrassed.
I dared to marry Lukas Strakovski, so I was prepared for this.
I wasn’t a promiscuous woman, but I wasn’t overly conservative either. I believed in finding a balance that worked for me and marrying him was a part of that.
It was a decision I made to protect myself from impending disasters, even if it meant making certain
crifices.
Since I had taken on the identity of someone’s wife, I couldn’t expect everything to go smoothly. However, despite my readiness, I still hoped that this day could come a little later. After all, me and Lukas were strangers just a short while ago. The suddenness of it all had left me with mixed
emotions.
On the way, Lukas remained silent, even during the meal, he was infuriatingly quiet.
After finishing their meal, I took the initiative to leave.
After all, I still had a tough battle to fight in the afternoon!
Before parting ways, Lukas glanced at me and said, “No matter what you are going to do, my assistant will come to pick you up at exactly 7 in the evening. Tonight is our wedding night, don’t forget!”
I blushed. “I know!” I said that and hurriedly left.
Watching my figure walking away, the assistant couldn’t help but comment, “Not only does Miss Sophia sound like Miss Scholl when she speaks, but she even has a slight resemblance in looks.
Lukas’s gaze swept over him like a sharp blade. “After following me for so long, I thought you had some sense of knowing when to speak and when not to.”
The assistant immediately looked frightened. “Apologies, Mr. Strakovski! I shouldn’t have said anything!”
Lukas paused for a moment, then continued, “Also, they look completely different!”

Lukas didn’t respond to his words. “Follow her, and if anything happens, act immediately!” He
ordered his assistant instead.
The assistant nodded immediately and fixed his composure. “I’ll be on my way now, Mr. Strakovski!”
“Remember, my people are not ones that anyone can bully. Understand?” Lukas’s expression was cold, proud, and imposing, like a deity on a shrine, noble and untouchable.
The assistant nodded repeatedly and turned to leave, still feeling embarrassed from his sudden
outburst earlier.
soon as the assistant left, Lukas’s phone suddenly rang, and his face visibly twitched at the sound.
“Hello?” Lukas answered the phone, his tone so cold it was suffocating.
“Lukas, I heard you got married to someone else?” Emily Scholl can be heard at the other end of the
line, her voice carried a hint of crying.
“Like what I have said before, I won’t give anyone a chance to stand me up for the fourth time! You
have crossed the line!” Lukas’s voice grew even colder with every word.
The person on the other end of the phone sounded like she is on the verge of a breakdown. “I
explained everything to you. I had something to do in France. Why can’t you give me a little more time? Is our love less important than your pride?”
“Lukas Strakovski, you’re too arrogant. Did you even really love me?” The person on the phone
continued to sob.
Lukas hung up the phone without saying a word.
Love? Of course, he loved her, but she dared to stand him up, and he could easily find another
woman to take her place. She could never turn back from that.
As soon as I got into the car, I opened my phone to see the entertainment news.
One headline caught my eye, the hottest piece of entertainment news being circulated at the moment.

After I finished speaking, I hung up and went upstairs.
When Hugo saw me, he immediately grabbed me, as if I was his lifeline, and hurriedly led me to the press conference venue.
