I frowned. “Then what did you mean by your words just now?”
Lukas raised an eyebrow slightly. “Just a reasonable guess. Don’t you think Hugo would use the same trick against you? Dumbass!”

With a tense expression, I opened the door of the passenger seat and stepped out immediately.
I had barely stepped out and hadn’t stood firmly when Lukas pressed the gas pedal, speeding away, leaving me choking on the exhaust fumes from the car. I was so angry that I stomped her feet.

When I arrived at the pastry cafe, Ava was already sitting in her usual spot with a laptop in front of her.
