Chapter 47
The hospital director, Anthony Rivers, from Rivers Health Medical Center, issued a strong statement. “Our hospital staunchly condemns such deceitful acts. Doctors who issue false certificates have been promptly dismissed, and their medical licenses have been revoked.”
Simultaneously, he attached two medical certificates to his statement–one for the fake hospitalization in the morning and the other for the wrist–cutting operation. He emphasized that the second certificate indicated a first–time injury and not a reopening of the wound.
This revelation further fueled public outrage, intensifying the criticismAgainst Bella.
Strakovski Jewelry officially retweeted Anthony’s Facebook post and announced their intention to sue Bella for plagiarism. In addition, they accused her of cyberbullying Sophia, aiming to restore peace to the online world.
Upon my return to the design department, this battle started.
I was taken aback. I never thought Lukas could successfully turn Hugo to our side, leading to the exposure of Bella’s wrongdoings with concrete evidence.
Every piece of solid evidence pinned Bella to the pillar of shame.
In the design department, I was met with a mix of complex expressions from my colleagues.
In just an hour, the online sentiment had undergone a near–complete reversal.
As the online backlash intensified, Victoria’s barrage of furious calls started pouring in.
I maintained my composure and calmly stood up to answer the phone, holding my mobile tightly
The moment the call connected, Victoria’s angry voice came through, “Sophia, you’ve gone too f Now that you have Lukas backing you, you no longer care about your family?”
My expression remained indifferent as I responded, “Is it me who doesn’t care about the family, or perhaps the family is the one who doesn’t care about me? Even within my own home, I can be targeted and schemed against. Mom, I fail to see what right you have to call and reprimand me repeatedly!”
Victoria’s voice wavered slightly at my words. “All right. Let’s say that the incident last night was the family’s mistake. But even so, you shouldn’t have completely ruined your sister, leading to her being condemned like this online!”

Last night, she had been shocked to learn that I had gained Lukas’s support.
Had this been the usual, she would have certainly been overjoyed, boasting to anyone the crossed paths with. After all, her daughter marrying Lukas was a cause for great celebration. Power and
wealth were sure to come rolling in.
However, the timing of our meeting was unfortunate, coinciding with her scheming against me. This incident would likely be etched in Lukas’s memory forever.
The night before, Lukas had left with me in his arms. Victoria and Bella spend hours discussi strategies for faking suicide attempts. Unexpectedly, their lies had been exposed within a shot period of time!
ctoria was on edge and didn’t dare to tell anyone about my marriage to Lukas. She feared that
those seeking to please Lukas might target Bella.
I retorted sarcastically, “Perhaps you only saw the part where others were scolding Bella! When people were scolding me, I never received a call from you to offer comfort!”
“I… I was busy at the time. But since you’ve married Lukas, can’t you spare Bell?”
I couldn’t believe my mother’s words when she mentioned sparing Bella. It struck me as utterly ridiculous. “Spare her? Don’t you find that ridiculous? If it weren’t for Strakovski Jewelry’s counterattack, I would probably be the one facing death this time!”
“Mom, back when I was fourteen and attending university, Bella insisted that you also send her to the same university. Unfortunately, it’s clear now that while money can open the doors to higher education, it can’t increase one’s intelligence. No matter how much money you spend, you can’t improve her intellect. This time, consider it a stupidity tax for her!”
With that, I calmly hung up the phone.
As a jewelry prodigy, I recalled how Bella had insisted on competing with me and compelled my mother to spend money to get her into university.
Now, it was quite ironic. It would have been better if they had let Bella pursue a conventional
education!
Returning to the design department, I noticed the hushed whispers among my colleagues.
“I never expected the company to value Sophia so much. They really helped her stage a quick
comeback!”

on!”
Have you seen how stunning Sophia looks? And now, with the company taking her side, is she possibly involved with Mr Strakovski?”
Olivia’s expression turned frosty as she interjected, “Aren’t you all supposed to be working? Why are you wasting time gossiping? The company supports Sophia simply because she is associated with Strakovski, and the company’s reputation is linked to hers. That’s all! Instead of indulging in useless chatter, focus on producing more design drafts!”
