Chapter 2
Warren’s phone, which was placed on the coffee table, suddenly rang.
The specially set exclusive ringtone was particularly noticeable in the quiet living room.
Carissa hesitated for a moment, but ultimately chose to walk past.
However, before she could reach the coffee table, she was bumped into by a figure shrouded in
steam.
Carissa’s calf heavily knocked against the sharp edge of the table, and the intense pain instantly made her eyes well up with tears.
The main culprit Warren, who caused all of this, was completely unaware of it.
He grabbed his phone and turned back to the bathroom.
Carissa limped her way to the sofa, enduring the pain.
Just as I sat down, a voice filled with nervousness but pretending to be calm and gentle came from
the bathroom.
“Don’t be afraid, stay in the room and don’t come out, I will come to find you right now.”
Carissa felt a wave of bitterness welling up in her heart.
They had been together for six years, and Warren had always been calm and rational in front of her.
Even until today, we can see him in a panic over a phone call.
She finally understood that there was no inherent coldness, it was just because he didn’t love her.
Warren walked out of the bathroom with an anxious expression.
As she passed by, her footsteps did not stop, only leaving behind a sentence, “The company has something to do, you don’t need to wait for me.”
Therefore, he ignored Carissa, who used to always hand him his coat and remind him to come home early when he left, this time not only without asking a single word but also without even looking up
at him.
Carissa sat alone on the couch for a long time.
She didn’t stand up and return to the bedroom to tidy up her things until the pain in her legs slowly dissipated.
The couple’s water cup that Warren had bought a long time ago but never used.
The couple rings, which she personally made but had not yet–given away.

For their wedding, Carissa personally crafted a unity knot.
A hundred happiness pictures were written stroke by stroke.
Now everything has been thrown into the trash bag by her without hesitation.
For a full two hours, the room was emptied by half.
Carissa had just breathed a sigh of relief when her phone suddenly rang, and Emma’s voice was
filled with excitement.
“Carie! I am currently on a business trip abroad, and I just woke up to this great news. Welcome to
join us! I will be back in a week, and then I will pick you up to go to Dimborough together. But… didn’t you say you were preparing to get married to your boyfriend? Will he agree to let you go to Dimborough?”
Upon hearing these words, Carissa fell silent for a moment.
Although she was with Warren for six years, few people knew about their relationship because
Warren didn’t like to show off.
Until three days ago, Emma came to inquire if she wanted to join her newly opened studio in
Dimborough.
Carissa had just informed her about her upcoming wedding.
Little did I expect that, in just a few days, I would be proven wrong.
She said calmly, “It’s okay, the wedding was canceled.”
Warren, who had just returned home, heard this sentence as soon as he opened the bedroom door.
A trace of panic flashed through his eyes.
“What wedding was canceled?”
Carissa was startled by the sudden sound that appeared behind her.
She calmed herself down and found a random excuse.
“A friend had some unexpected matters, so the wedding was canceled.”
Warren also had no doubts.
“A few days ago, when it was your birthday, you said you wanted to take couple photos. Today, the photographer called me and asked us to come tomorrow for the shoot.”
‘Garissa instinctively wanted to refuse.
However, before she could speak, Warren’s gaze shifted to the empty table, furrowing his brow in

■ confusion.
“Carie, were you just tidying up the room? Why does it feel like there are a lot of things missing?”
Carissa nodded naturally.
“Well, anyway, it wasn’t going to be used anymore, so keeping it at home would just take up space.”
For some reason, Warren felt a strange sensation in his heart when he heard those words…
