Chapter 3
Warren’s gaze lingered on the desktop for a long time.
Carissa swallowed the words of refusal that were on the tip of her tongue.
She just wanted to leave quietly, without getting involved in any unnecessary complications at this
moment.
So, she said softly, “Rest early, tomorrow we still have to take photos, right?”
Warren did not think much more when he saw that Carissa’s face showed no signs of surprise.
Both of them had their own thoughts, sleeping back to back.
The next day, Carissa struggled to drag the garbage bag, preparing to throw it into the trash bin
downstairs.
Warren took the initiative and asked, somewhat surprised.
“Why is it so heavy? What are these things?”
He said as he reached out with one hand to fiddle with the opening of the bag, seemingly wanting to
open and take a look.

“They were all useless things.”
Just then, the elevator arrived. After this interruption, Warren also lost interest.
Watching the man throw the bag into the trash can without hesitation, Carissa felt a great sense of
relief.
After arriving at the photo studio, the staff took them to choose the clothes for the shoot.
Looking at the various wedding dresses in front of her, Carissa was about to ask if there were no
other clothes when Warren suddenly stopped in front of a set of wedding dress.
“Carie, wear this one. Didn’t you say you liked this style before?”
Carissa glanced at the set of palace–style wedding dress and was slightly taken aback.
Half a month ago, she had previously shared a similar wedding dress with Warren.
If she had known that Warren remembered her preferences before she discovered Madilyn’s existence, she would have been extremely touched.
But now, there was no ripple at all.
But she was also too lazy to choose another one, so she simply went along with his suggestion.

A few minutes later, the staff members were tidying up Carissa’s voluminous skirt while complimenting her with smiles.
“Ms. Solomon, you and your boyfriend must have been very much in love. The wedding dress he chose for you is truly suitable, and the result of the photoshoot must have been perfect!”
No sooner had the words been spoken, another staff member walked in cautiously.
“Mr. Knapp said the company had an urgent matter, so today we will take a set of personal portraits for you first, and we will come back in a few days to take the couple portraits…”
The smiles on the staff’s faces were somewhat forced, and they even deliberately stayed a few steps
away.
She was afraid that the sudden loss of control of the girl’s emotions would affect her.
After all, similar situations had happened before in the photo studio.
What she didn’t expect was that Carissa simply nodded and calmly accepted it all.
After taking the photo, she took a taxi home alone.
Before entering the room, I heard a woman’s soft laughter coming from the living room.
“Warren, I never thought that after so many years, I would still be able to eat a meal cooked by
you.”
At the dining table, Warren naturally placed the freshly peeled shrimp in the bowl of the woman opposite him, about to say something when he turned his head and saw Carissa standing at the
doorway.
He stood there in a daze for a few seconds before remembering to introduce himself to her.
“Carie, this is Madilyn. She had a little issue recently, so she came to stay at our house for a few days.”
Madilyn glanced at him imperceptibly, sitting across from him.
Softly and weakly, she spoke, “You must be Warren’s girlfriend, right? He has mentioned you before. We will be relying on you during this time. By the way, Warren made grilled shrimp, which I love. Why don’t you sit down and have some with us?”
With that, she stood up and gave up the seat opposite, sitting next to Warren, assuming the air of a hostess.
Carissa originally thought it was just Warren’s wishful thinking.
Now it seems that the two of them were equally matched.
“You guys go ahead and eat, I’m tired. I’ll go back to the bedroom and rest first.”

After saying that, she turned around and walked towards the bedroom. However, when she saw the scene behind the door, her whole body froze in place.
