Chapter 10
No sooner had the words left her mouth, Warren flung her hand away.
“I am going to find Carie now, so please stop bothering me.”
“By the way, after you were discharged from the hospital, let’s move back home. And also, find a time as soon as possible to get the divorce certificate done.”
After saying these words, he no longer cared about anything else. He sprinted down the stairs and hailed a taxi, heading straight home.
Along the way, Warren frantically dialed Carissa’s number.
However, all the messages that came out were mechanical electronic sounds saying “the other
party’s phone is switched off” without exception.
At this moment, there was still a trace of luck in his heart.
Perhaps Carissa’s phone just ran out of battery, so she couldn’t receive her own calls.
As long as he returned home, he would definitely see his beloved who he had been thinking about.
Warren kept urging the driver to drive faster…
However, when he pushed open the door and saw the empty and unfamiliar living room in front of
him, he instantly froze in place.
On the sofa were Carissa’s pillows and small blanket, on the table was her frequently used ceramic water cup, and on the display cabinet were those dolls she cherished.
Everything about Carissa disappeared.
He stumbled and staggered towards the cabinet, trembling as he opened the cabinet door in front of
him.
Inside, there were originally things prepared by Carissa for their wedding.
The hand–knitted love knot and the hand–written hundred happiness picture, each representing
her cherished moments of the wedding.
However, at this moment, everything had disappeared…
Warren tirelessly searched through every corner of the house.
He deluded himself into thinking that perhaps Carissa had just put them somewhere else.
“The more I looked for his heart, the more I became anxious.
In just a few days, all traces of Carissa’s life in the house were erased, replaced instead by Madilyn’s

belongings that could be seen everywhere.
Especially when he pushed open the door of the master bedroom and saw the huge wedding photo on the bedside, he felt almost breathless.
No, it shouldn’t be like this.
This was clearly his and Carissa’s home…
At this moment, Warren finally understood what Carissa felt when she saw this wedding photo.
But now it’s too late for everything.
Carissa left, she didn’t want him anymore.
Warren recklessly rushed over and snatched the wedding photo off, throwing it to the ground. He punched the image repeatedly, depicting himself embracing another woman.
Even though his hands were cut and bleeding profusely, he never stopped.
It seems as if doing so could cover up the foolish mistakes I had made in the past.
Warren finally stopped his hands until the wedding photos were smashed into pieces and could no longer reveal their original appearance.
He looked at the mess on the floor and walked dejectedly towards the living room. As he passed the
trash bin, his footsteps paused.
Warren trembled as he picked up a few red fragments.
When he saw the three big words “marriage certificate” above, his brain buzzed and instantly
became blank.
