Chapter 3
Three days later, the 21st level technical college classmates gathered.
Greta went and only then did she realize that Kayson had also come.
He was surrounded by a crowd in the center, and as soon as he saw her, he immediately walked over
and sat down next to her.
As two people sat together, the atmosphere in the private room became somewhat strange.
Greta knew it was because of herself.
After all, in the eyes of her college classmates, she married Kayson just to climb the social ladder, so everyone looked down on her.
But she didn’t care about these malicious speculations, sitting quietly and keeping a poker face.
The monitor, who arrived late, held a large cardboard box and greeted everyone.
“Today, I invite everyone to gather for a party. Firstly, it is to strengthen our bond and secondly, it
is time for the ‘write a letter to your past self five years ago‘ activity that we did back then. Let’s
take this opportunity to look at them together today.”
Everyone rushed up at once, making a lot of noise.
“Let’s play something interesting, how about each person randomly picks a letter and reads it out
loud!”
“That’s good, let me draw one first!”
The most active boy in the class squeezed into the crowd and was the first to draw a letter.
Several unaware people around him urged him on, and he quickly opened the envelope, cleared his
throat, and unfolded the letter.
“Hello Greta, how are you five years from now? I am writing this letter to you under the sunshine
although I do not know the circumstances or emotions you will have when you read these letters,
but I want to convey my current feelings to you.”
After listening to the first paragraph, the entire room fell silent, and everyone’s gaze shifted to
Greta.
Kayson, who was originally playing with his phone, also looked up with a surprised expression at
the person beside him.
Greta’s usually emotionless face instantly froze when she thought about the contents of the letter.
The boy glanced at her and smirked, then continued reading on.

. This year, you were 19 years old and just started your sophomore year in college. You developed a
crush on Kayson, but he was unaware of it. Even if he had known, it wouldn’t have made any difference because he had feelings for someone else. Your secret crush was destined to be fruitless.
“You may ask me, since it was destined to end without any illness, why didn’t I give up? What I want
to tell you is that what I liked was his indomitable spirit among the crowd, his unintentional
concern when he blocked the basketball flying towards me in the evening breeze, and his polite and
sincere attitude even when rejecting someone’s confession.”
I was the one who turned my head to sneak a peek at him every Monday morning meeting, causing my neck to ache. I was the one who heard him get injured playing basketball and secretly put medicine in his drawer, braving the storm. I was the one who filled my diary with his name all night long. Perhaps, throughout my whole life, he will never remember me, but it’s okay because
unrequited love is a chaotic battlefield for one person.
The letter was finished, and the whole room fell silent.
Kayson’s whole body suddenly stiffened.
Suddenly, he remembered the wedding that year, which he couldn’t bear to look back on. He remembered the figure that stood up without hesitation and walked firmly to his side, amidst a group of strange eyes.
Until this moment, he finally knew why Greta had married him.
It was not as others said, it was not to climb up the social ladder.
It was just because she had secretly loved him for many years.
In an instant, his long–silent heart started beating faster for some unknown reason.
Impulsively, he really wanted to ask all those suppressed questions clearly, but before he had the chance to speak, Luella’s phone call came in.
“Kayson, I was cornered by a few thugs downstairs at the clubhouse…”
Her words were not finished yet when Kayson’s face changed.
He suddenly stood up and rushed downstairs. As soon as he saw the group of blondes, he swung his
fist.
Because he was angry, he hit hard and heavily, and a few punches made the person spit blood.
A group of people quickly followed and shielded Luella behind them. She cried as she recounted how the tattooed thug had touched her hand.
pon hearing this, Kayson immediately picked up the iron rod beside him and smashed it down on the thug’s hand.

- A cry of extreme pain echoed through the sky.
Greta rushed down the stairs and what she saw was this scene.
She froze as she looked at her right hand, which was bleeding profusely and almost useless.
Subconsciously, I looked up and saw Kayson’s figure leaving with Luella under his protection.
The person who had just acted ruthlessly and decisively has now put on a gentle expression and is speaking softly to coax.
This is something Greta has never cared about.
She lowered her eyes, hiding the emotions in her eyes, and smiled self–deprecatingly.
Then, I silently turned around and went back home.
Kayson didn’t come back until dawn.
Seeing her sitting silently on the sofa, he then remembered to explain a few things.
“Greta, today… we are all classmates, I cannot turn a blind eye to Luella’s matter.”
Greta, without intending to expose, made a soft sound of agreement and took the pajamas into the
bathroom.
Half an hour later, she came out with her hair wiped, only to see Kayson holding her phone with a slightly strange expression.
“Greta, why did you buy a plane ticket?”
