- Chapter 23
Since the afternoon, Carissa’s phone has been receiving calls from unfamiliar numbers.
Various abusive text messages filled the screen.
Just these alone she could bear, but the studio was also affected because of her.
Many excited netizens flocked to the studio’s account and left comments.
“Fire the mistress! Fire the mistress!”
“The studio that can hire a mistress is probably not a good thing either. I hope it goes bankrupt!”
“Make Carissa apologize to Ms. Archer in public!”
Looking at those comments, Carissa couldn’t help but well up with tears.
Melvin turned off her phone.
“Carie, stop looking. I have already arranged for someone to handle these matters. Take a few days to rest and don’t worry.”
Emma gently held her in her arms.
“You did nothing wrong, don’t be afraid, we will accompany you and help you clarify everything together!”
Carissa knew how much effort Emma had put into the studio for her work.
She could not let these people ruin it like this.
She wiped away her tears and gathered herself to start sorting out all the ins and outs of this matter.
From her six–year relationship with Warren, to the sudden appearance of Madilyn, to the discovery of a fake marriage certificate, and Madilyn moving into their home, to finally choosing to break up
and leave…
Just one second before she pressed the send button, Emma suddenly ran over with excitement.
“Carie, come and see, Warren has made a statement, and now all the netizens have gone to criticize
Madilyn!”
Carissa took the phone and saw his statement.
Warren indicated that Carissa was his legitimate girlfriend for the past six years.
As for Madilyn and the marriage certificate he held.
Je
He released the chat records of when Madilyn found him and cried about being forced into a marriage by her family and being harassed by a pervert. He stated that initially, he only wanted to

help Madilyn, which led to a series of events that followed after they got married.
If the statement ended here, perhaps Madilyn wouldn’t have been scolded so badly.
Unfortunately, Warren, in the end, admitted that he too had been deceived by her.
Forced marriage by family and being harassed by perverts, all of it was fake.
He also released evidence provided by Jared’s family, proving Madilyn’s interference in other
people’s relationships and deceitful behavior in obtaining money.
From beginning to end, Warren portrayed himself as a completely innocent victim.
The appearance of this statement completely reversed public opinion.
Those netizens who had previously crazily insulted Carissa found themselves being used as pawns
and turned back to fiercely retaliate against Madilyn with even more intense words.
Many netizens also jokingly compared this to a real–life version of “The Farmer and the Snake.”
Warren kindly helped Madilyn, but in the end, not only did he lose his girlfriend, but he was also
called a scumbag.
The most pitiful one is Carissa. She was just having a normal relationship, but not only did someone
snatch her boyfriend away, she was also criticized by netizens as a mistress.
Shouldn’t Warren take more responsible for this matter? He kept saying that he just wanted to help Madilyn, but there were clearly so many other ways. Why did he have to get married? How could he prove that he didn’t have any other feelings for Madilyn?
Carissa silently liked this comment.
Afterwards, she also posted the clarification she had made herself.
I solemnly declared that I had already broken up with Warren, and I also added the fact that he had deceived me with a fake marriage certificate, which he could hide.
Melvin and Emma also filed lawsuits against several individuals who led the public opinion to
insult her.
Carissa did not continue to pay attention to the subsequent events.
But from what her friends said, she learned that Warren had also been criticized by netizens
because of her clarification post.
Finally, due to the impact of his personal life on the company’s reputation, he was ultimately
dismissed.
Carissa originally thought that after this incident, she and Warren would completely break up.

Little did she expect that a few days later she would see Warren again downstairs.
