Chapter 23
After taking a brief rest for two days, Greta entered work mode.
She followed Sharon to discuss the details of the cooperation and learned a lot of experience from
- it.
The progress of the project was also exceptionally smooth, everything fell into place effortlessly, without encountering any obstacles.
During the discussion with the Brady Group, Kayson himself did not attend and only sent his
deputy.
Greta breathed a sigh of relief and presented the contract she had prepared in advance.
After reviewing the conditions, the other party showed a positive willingness to cooperate,
but they
raised a condition.
During the term of the contract, the Brady Group designated Greta as the coordinator responsible for communicating and coordinating between both parties, A and B.
Sharon immediately guessed that this must be what Kayson meant.
He wanted to use this collaboration to keep Greta.
After thinking it over, Sharon decided to ask her personally.
So after leaving the Brady Group, the two of them found a café and chatted.
“Greta, although it may be presumptuous, if it’s convenient, could you please tell me about the beginning and end of your marriage with Kayson?”
Greta fell silent for a moment, but in the end, she faithfully recounted the entire story.
Four years of classmates, three years of marriage, combined, it is almost one–third of her life.
When it comes to talking to others, however, it is light and airy, leaving no trace.
It felt like telling someone else’s story.
The immense love that once supported Greta through countless dark nights was ultimately worn
away by time.
After Sharon listened, she couldn’t detach herself from it for a long time.
She didn’t know what to say, and any language seemed pale and powerless at this moment.
There was only silence, constantly replaying in the compartment.
Watching her expression full of tenderness and regret, Greta smiled gently, her tone carrying a

sense of relief as if a thousand sails had passed.
Sharon, I know you have concerns deep down, wanting to secure this project but not wanting to harm me. The reason I brought up these old matters that should have been sealed away is to tell you that I have completely let go. No matter the reason they made this request, in my eyes, I will only treat it as a job to be earnestly completed. Although I don’t have much experience, as long as you need me and the team needs me, I will strive to fulfill it and not disappoint everyone’s
expectations.”
Upon hearing her solemn promise, Sharon’s eyes welled up with tears.
This project was a make–or–break opportunity for her, so she spared no effort in trying to facilitate
this collaboration.
And the most crucial part of it all was Greta, the person.
Although she didn’t like using this method, it was her only way to achieve her goal by taking advantage of Kayson’s feelings for Greta.
Fortunately, Greta understood her predicament and was willing to help her out.
No words can fully express her gratitude, and in the end, it all turned into the sound of clinking
glasses.
At the end of April, Sharon flew back to Fieldhurst with four signed contracts.
Greta went to the airport to bid farewell, and the two of them embraced for a long time.
Watching the figure appearing not far away, Sharon couldn’t help but ask a question.
“Greta, after seven years of liking someone, he has now realized his true feelings. Are you really not planning to give him another chance?”
Greta knew that Sharon had a good heart and hoped that she would be happy.
Only she herself could understand how difficult those seven years were, until she completely
moved on.
If it were just a matter of seeking and not obtaining, it wouldn’t be so painful, just a matter of
regret.
When she finally caught hold of the unattainable moon, thinking she had chased after the light, she realized it was just an illusion of fishing the moon out of the water. After that, she would no longer yearn for the sky.
‘Some things are only suitable for looking up to.
So she only answered one sentence.

“Sharon, life cannot be relived, we all have to look forward.”
