Chapter 25
When I woke up, the view outside the window had already turned into a snowy and icy landscape.
The snow was still falling.
Greta went downstairs and saw Kayson waiting by the roadside.
He walked over to her proactively, wanting to take away her luggage, with a tone that carried an indescribable and ambiguous complexity.
“It’s snowing heavily and we can’t catch a taxi. Let me take you to the airport.”
This time, Greta did not refuse.
She realized that he had more to say.
This time leaving, there was truly no return date.
There were some things she also wanted to put an end to.
The vehicle started and drove very slowly.
I don’t know if it was the slippery road due to the snowy weather or if Kayson did it on purpose.
But fortunately, there was plenty of time.
So Greta said nothing and quietly watched the scenery outside the window.
Time passed by minute by minute, and Kayson finally couldn’t bear the silent atmosphere when
parting.
He wanted to say something, suppressing the chaos in his heart.
I also wanted to impress her and keep her by my side.
“Greta, do you remember our second Christmas after we got married? It was snowing heavily jus like that time. My mother was not feeling well, and you took me to the temple to pray and make wishes. I drew a marriage fortune stick, and it said ‘May I win one person’s heart‘…”
Listening to his description, Greta also recalled that past experience.
After receiving the signature, the master looked at the two of them and said something very
strange.
“Fate is destined, both the destined fate and the destined calamity. If one can awaken early, it would be the best omen.”
She didn’t understand his intention and thought that the person the master wanted to enlighten was herself. She worried about this for a long time afterwards.

■ After all, at that time, she really wanted to stay with him forever.
Looking back now, it was Kayson who drew the lots, and those words were not meant for her to
hear.
And the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with at that time, actually wasn’t her, right?
At the thought of this, Greta chuckled softly.
“I don’t quite remember.”
Kayson paused for a few seconds and immediately came up with a new topic.
Most of it was the trivial daily life after their marriage, some of which she couldn’t even remember,
but he could describe it in great detail.
Greta didn’t know that these past events had been repeatedly reminisced by Kayson in the past year, so he remembered them vividly.
He tried to impress her with the somewhat warm married life.
But Greta had no expression on her face, as if she didn’t miss the past at all.
Unbeknownst, the car had already arrived at the airport.
She was carrying a suitcase and was about to leave when Kayson called out to her from behind.
He took out a box and handed it to her, his eyes filled with eager anticipation.
As Greta opened it, she saw a pair of bracelets.
She remembered that this was the bracelet Kayson’s mother used to wear daily, which was said to
be a family heirloom of the Brady family.
Why did he give her this?
“If it’s a farewell gift, it’s too precious. I dare not accept it.”
After being rejected once again, Kayson could hardly laugh anymore.
His throat choked a few times, and a hint of urgency flashed across his face.
“Take it, this is my intention, and also my mother’s intention.”
Greta shook her head gently, her tone indifferent.
“What does this gift represent, I understand, that’s why I don’t want to accept it. I have also told you some words many times before, since the story has already ended, let’s go back to our original positions.”
It deeply pierced Kayson, word by word.

He stood in the snow, watching her slowly go away.
Step by step, never looking back.
Only the snowflakes, falling one after another onto his head, arrived as promised.
He was presented with a white head that he had longed for.
