Chapter 5
Braylon paused for a moment.
I didn’t understand what he meant..
It took a while before I came back to my senses.
“Letter of understanding? Are you kidding me? That thing has been sitting in the police station for three years, how could she suddenly discover it?”
The secretary was sweating profusely and his voice was stuttering.
He glanced at the hospital bed and leaned in close to Braylon’s ear, saying, “I’m not sure either, but the photocopy of the letter of understanding was definitely sent by Mrs. I tried calling her to explain, but she didn’t answer. I suspect she knows about what happened back then. I haven’t had a chance to go to the police station yet, so I hurried over here to tell you.”
“What should we do now? Will the wife not sue? If she exposes this, the reputation that the company has painstakingly built over the years will be completely ruined!”
On the sickbed, a hint of pride flashed through Talia’s eyes.
He turned and replaced his expression with a worried look.
“Braylon, what’s wrong? Did something happen at the company? Why don’t you go back and check, I’m fine. Mason will be here soon; you go and attend to your matters.”
Braylon’s face turned pale, and after a moment, he explained, “I’m sorry, Patricia suddenly disappeared, and I’m afraid something happened to her. I have to go back and check on her.”
After speaking, Talia chuckled lightly and covered her mouth.
“What was I thinking, Patricia? You’ve known her for quite some time now. It’s just her temper. I reckon she’s still upset about something that happened at the party. No need to worry.”
“She will come back in a couple of days after she figures it out herself. You should focus on the company’s matters first, don’t let it affect your work. She will understand you.”
Braylon heard her say this and also breathed a sigh of relief.
Just as he turned around to leave, Talia started coughing violently behind him..
Braylon had no choice but to instruct his secretary to investigate my whereabouts first.
I myself continued to stay in the hospital to take care of Talia.
The secretary had just left.
Talia acted as if nothing had happened.

Lying on the sickbed, he kept talking about past events.
It’s not that I was being unreasonable, it’s just that I was being immature and making a big deal out of small things.
The words with hidden meaning reached Braylon’s ears.
He, however, could not connect these words with me now.
Lost in thought, Talia kept on talking incessantly.
His face turned cold.
“That’s enough, Patricia is not that kind of person, I know her.”
One sentence made Talla’s eyes instantly well up with tears.
I hurriedly got out of bed to apologize to Braylon.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it that way. I know Patricia is a good girl, and you are a good person too. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have known how to get through these three years. I was just afraid that
she would cause trouble with you and make you feel cold–hearted.”
“Braylon, you know me, I didn’t mean anything else.”
“The incident of Mrs. Hensley’s car accident back then was also unintentional on my part. I never
expected the brakes to malfunction. I just wanted to pick up Patricia and take her home. Who could have imagined that it would…”
Whenever that car accident was mentioned, it felt like a sharp knife stabbing into Braylon’s heart.
He was in so much pain that he couldn’t speak.
He knew himself that Talia was innocent, but at that time, all the evidence indicated that she was
not simple.
Even the investigating police themselves said that this car accident was not an accident.
I remembered the panic–stricken look on my face at the wedding.
For the first time ever, I felt a sense of disgust towards Talia.
“Stop talking about it, the past is the past. I have something to do, I’ll call Mason later to come and look after you. I’m leaving now.”
Talia was unwilling and made several attempts to persuade them to stay.
Braylon indeed did not look at her again.
He left the ward without looking back.

Just as I walked out of the hospital, the secretary called.
“Mr. Spencer, I have asked the police already. Mrs. came to investigate the case from years appa day ago, but she didn’t say anything and just left after making a copy of the settlement agreement”
“The time had not come, and the police station refused to file a case”
“She must have realized something is wrong! You better go back and check!”
Braylon abruptly halted his steps.
“One day ago?”
In an instant, he remembered something
Ran crazily to the car.
Stepping on the accelerator, I hurried home.
I don’t know how many red lights I ran on the way.
He would call or message me whenever he had the opportunity.
The chat box only displayed red exclamation marks.
My phone was always turned off.
This situation had never happened before.
We had been married for three years, and we hardly ever argued.
Not to mention the fact that now they have completely disappeared.
Braylon had not even gained any experience in coaxing me.
Listening to the mechanical ringtone on the phone.
He became increasingly uneasy in his heart.
The moment the door was pushed open.
He suddenly froze in place.
