Chapter 6
The place on the wall where the wedding photo used to hang is now empty.
All my belongings at home disappeared without a trace.
Braylon’s eyes instantly turned red,
I quickly ran into the bedroom and opened the wardrobe.
There was only his suit left.
He searched every corner of his house.
There was only a divorce agreement left on the table.
He opened it and took a quick look.
The part about property division above was clearly written with four big characters.
Starting from scratch.
It hurt his eyes.
It also hurt his heart.
He held the agreement in his hand and sat on the sofa.
One after another, he smoked cigarettes.
My mind was filled with memories of the past three years.
Scene by scene, it almost drove him to the brink of losing his sanity.
The phone kept dialing automatically.
But no one answered the call.
After a long while, he snapped out of his thoughts.
Sent a message to the secretary.
“Find Patricia, no matter the cost!”
That evening, he did not stay at home.
I took the divorce agreement and went to see the company’s lawyer.
The lawyer took a glance and shook his head helplessly.
“Since Ms. Hensley has already found out, she definitely won’t come back. She didn’t sue you, which was already going above and beyond. It’s time for you to give up.‘

“If she gets angry, everything in the company will be ruined!”
Braylon looked dejected and defeated as he slumped in the chair.
“I wouldn’t give up, as long as I could find her, no matter if she wanted to send me to jail or ruin my reputation, I would accept it all…”
The lawyer was surprised by his change in attitude.
After a long silence, he finally spoke, “I have warned you before that exchanging marriage for forgiveness is unacceptable. Since you chose this path, you should have known that your relationship with Ms. Hensley could never be pure.”
“Now it was already the best outcome, I don’t understand why you still want to look for her?”
“What do you want to say? Apologize and admit that you shouldn’t have released the killer of her mother in her name? Or kneel down and apologize, saying that you shouldn’t have deceived her marriage for a forgiveness letter?”
Braylon swayed and his face turned pale.
“Talia was innocent… This matter was simply-”
Without waiting for him to finish, the lawyer coldly interrupted.
“Mr. Spencer, as a lawyer, I kindly remind you not to be blinded by one’s own perspective and rely on feelings to judge the truth, which is highly undesirable in the legal field!”
“The judge won’t listen to your feelings, and the police won’t make judgments based on your feelings either.”
“In the case of the car accident, all the evidence pointed to Talia!”
How did she appear in that place? Where did the broken–down car come from? Why did she know that Mrs. Hensley was getting off the plane at that exact time? Why was it her who went to pick her up?
A series of consecutive interrogations left Braylon speechless.
He sat down on the ground, closed his eyes in despair.
“And whose idea was it to issue a letter of understanding in the name of the family?”
“Mr. Spencer, you’re an intelligent person. I’m just reminding you that only Ms. Hensley can be
considered innocent in this matter.”
Your love should not be fulfilled by her mother’s death!”
The lawyer’s words completely woke him up.

Braylon sat on the ground and numbly opened his phone.
I opened the chat box with him.
Looked up to see the records.
I was the only one who cared unilaterally.
“When did you finish work? I made your favorite seafood porridge.”
“Are you still going out tonight? I’ll wait for you to come back and celebrate your birthday.”
“It’s cold now, I bought a coat for you, come back and try it on.”
“Can you accompany me to visit my mom tomorrow? I want to burn some paper money for her.”
***.
Every additional sentence he read; a sharp pain pierced his heart.
He never paid attention to these trivial details in life.
When I opened my phone this time, I realized that I had actually done so much for him.
Tears slid uncontrollably.
He reached out to wipe, but the more he wiped, the more there was.
When the last drop of tears dried up after crying.
He looked up at the lawyer.
“Can you help me check where this divorce agreement was printed?”
“I really have no way out, please, help me…”
