Chapter 9
The down jacket was covered with a layer of snow.
I don’t know how long he had been waiting here,
I didn’t want to know, and I didn’t care.
I turned around to leave, but he rushed up and grabbed my arm.
“Patricia… was me.”
“I came to find you.”
“I know these past three years were me letting you down and making you suffer. I only ask for a chance to explain.”
He moved cautiously; his eyes filled with weariness from the journey.
I didn’t want to look at him again and I let go of his hand.
“There was no need, was there anything to explain?”
“Explain that the letter of forgiveness was not written by you, explain that the hotels abroad were not established by you for Talia, explain that the one million per month was not transferred by
you?”
“Braylon, between us, explanations were no longer necessary a long time ago.”
“I knew you liked her, and now that I’ve left, giving you both a chance, why do you still insist on finding me?”
“Did you see how miserable you would be without me? Is it disappointing for you to see me like this
now?”
He didn’t expect that I would look at the things on his computer.
It took a while for me to react.
“No, it’s not like that. Listen to me, Talia doesn’t know anyone abroad. I’m just worried that she
won’t have enough money to live on, nothing else. As for that hotel, it was just a coincidence. I
really didn’t know she would choose to go there-”
“Enough, Braylon, do you believe these words when spoken out?”
“I was not a three–year–old child anymore.”
“Every minute and every second I spent with you now, made me feel extremely disgusted!”
After you left, I could close my eyes and imagine how my mother looked before she passed away.

Braylon’s face gradually turned pale as I spoke.
The hand that was frozen in mid–air finally dropped down.
“I’m sorry.”
I smiled, but tears fell down.
“Sorry? What can your sorry bring back? Can it bring my mother back to life? Or can it put Talia in jail?”
“Don’t come looking for me anymore. Seeing you only makes me hate my own foolishness even
more!”
After saying that, I didn’t look at him again and left without turning my head.
Braylon did not appear again.
Three days later, a news story emerged domestically.
He went to surrender to the police.
He wrote that letter of forgiveness with fraudulent behavior, without my knowledge.
Not legally binding.
The car accident case from three years ago was brought up again.
There was no letter of forgiveness this time, and Talia was destined to face the legal consequences.
Mason Corporation issued a statement overnight, clarifying that he and Talia are no longer in a marital relationship.
This became the final straw that broke Talia’s back.
Braylon appealed at this time, demanding the recovery of all funds he had transferred to Talia over
the past three years.
The two individuals engaged in a fierce physical altercation in the courtroom.
We completely tore our faces apart.
There were many viewers present at the live broadcast.
The live broadcast room made it to the top headlines.
I went in and took a glance, there were hundreds of thousands of spectators.
Without exception, everyone was cursing Talia for being a heartless snake.
She couldn’t pay back the money.

He was finally sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment.
Braylon’s company faced reputation risks.
It persisted for a month, but eventually closed.
From then on, this childhood friend who had been with me for 20 years completely disappeared
from my life.
The day Talia was imprisoned.
I applied for a new job.
It was an end, but also a new beginning.
