Chapter 2
Not long after Garrett left, Ruth received a video call from Liam.
He was wearing a white shirt while cooking in the kitchen, with his messy hair gently covering his forehead. His eyelashes were slightly curled, giving him a delicate and soft appearance.
“Honey, is the divorce over?”
Although she was several years older than him and had experienced a lot, every time she saw the young boy’s face, she couldn’t help but blush and her heart would race.
No wonder those girls in his school were falling over each other for him, looking like this.
She coughed lightly and said, “I had already signed the divorce settlement. In another month, I will have no relationship with him anymore.”
Upon hearing this, Liam’s handsome lips curled up slightly, and he whispered, “Since it’s no longer a problem, Honey, you are not allowed to let him touch you during this time. I will check later.”
Ruth didn’t expect him to say such words. Her face turned slightly red, and she said with a stern
face, “What nonsense are you talking about, kid.”
Liam looked at her, his eyes filled with undisguised possessiveness, but it quickly disappeared. He said with a hint of grievance, “Honey, I may be young in age, but not in other aspects.”
Afraid that the conversation would become inappropriate for children, Ruth quickly intervened and
said a few kind words, finally persuading Liam to hang up the phone obediently.
The boy was good at everything, except….
Too clingy.
After hanging up the phone, Ruth went to the door and bought a calendar.
For a whole month, she almost counted the days as she lived.
Every day, she would tear off a page.
From October 1st to the 10th, Garrett did not come back even once.
But Ruth knew where he had been these days, who he had seen, and what he had been doing.
His current new love is Anne Duffy, an intern at his company. Every day, he would secretly boast
about their whereabouts in his social media circle.
.Either we had afternoon tea at the restaurant or we went to the golf course to play.
Either enjoying the bustling city lights from a mountain villa or bathing together in a hot spring.

It is strange to say that, with Garrett’s wayward nature, he would never waste so much time on a
Woman.
In the past
past, those red flowers and green leaves, the longest lasting only for a month, he grew tired
of them.
And this Anne, I don’t know what her skills are, but it’s been three months and I still haven’t tired of her.

Perhaps it was the long expiration date that gave her confidence. Unlike other women, she didn’t behave obediently. Instead, she took the initiative to add Ruth on WhatsApp, using this covert way to provoke her.
Ruth didn’t pay any attention to these tricks.
She was about to get divorced, so why would she care about these things?
These days, she had nothing to do, so she cleaned everything in the house.
The carefully selected razor, the suit meticulously ironed every day, the limited edition Patek Philippe watch obtained by staying up all night…
No matter the value or size of the items, she packaged and threw away everything she gave him.
All that was discarded together, including all the grievances she suffered in this marriage and the genuine love she once gave to Garrett.
She had already decided to say goodbye to the past and start a new life.
Two more days passed, and Garrett finally returned.
He looked at the many empty villas and furrowed his brow.
“Ruth, did you lose my things?
Ruth flipped through the magazine in her hand and murmured, “Lost.”
“I bought it, so I threw it away if I wanted to. Is there any problem? Besides, you don’t come home and you don’t need it either.”
Garrett thought she was still angry about the last incident, so he deliberately said these sarcastic
remarks.
He walked over and sat down beside her, casually coaxing, “Didn’t we agree before to play separately outside and not to take anyone seriously? Why are you starting to care again?”
Here we go again with the same old rhetoric.
No matter what he did, he always managed to come up with various excuses to explain it.
And his wife, could only passively accept all the pain he brought, not even able to utter a word of
grievance.
But now she no longer wants to argue with him over these meaningless little things.
She slammed the magazine shut, got up, and walked upstairs with an extremely cold tone.
“You’re overthinking, I didn’t care at all.”
Garrett assumed she was pretending to be calm and nonchalant, so he stood up and grabbed her
hand.
Then, in her impatient eyes, he took out an invitation from his pocket and placed it in her palm.
“Don’t be angry, I will take you to the auction tomorrow. You can bid for whatever you like, and we’ll have
a great time, okay?”
Ruth subconsciously wanted to cancel.
She caught sight of the Eden Auction House logo on the invitation card and changed her mind, agreeing to attend.
We were about to get divorced, so it wouldn’t be bad to use his money to buy some happiness.
