Chapter 12
Now just because she fell into the water and he didn’t come back to take care of her, she is making a fuss about getting a divorce?
Did she have such strong opinions about Anne? Was she so casual about marriage?
Garrett’s forehead bulged with blue veins as he angrily grabbed the agreement on the table and was about to open it when he heard Ruth’s cold voice on the other end of the phone.
“Anything wrong?”
“Do you want to threaten me with divorce this time? Is it necessary?”
Faced with his angry questioning, Ruth remained incredibly calm.
She picked up the remote control and opened the curtains, stretched her body slightly, and then replied to him slowly.
“Of course not.”
Upon hearing these words, Garrett’s tense heart relaxed for a moment, only to be immediately suspended again by her next sentence.
“Our marriage has already ended, why threaten?”
Is it over?
Garrett sneered coldly in anger, with dark clouds filling his eyes.
“You say it’s over and it’s over? I absolutely won’t agree to sign on the divorce settlement!”
I hadn’t actually seen the content yet.
Ruth walked to the table in her slippers and took a sip of the coffee that had been prepared early.
“I suggest you not to speak too definitively, it’s better to take a look at the content of the agreement
first.”
Her calm tone suddenly made Garrett’s resolute heart panic.
His strength suddenly increased in his hands, crumpling the smooth paper into wrinkles.
After hesitating for a moment, he ultimately gave up on arguing further and opened the agreement.
The agreement stated that the reason for divorce was infidelity on one party’s part, and the marital property would be divided equally according to the law.
And at the end of the agreement, his name was boldly signed!
As he looked at these three words, his mind momentarily crashed. His initial reaction was that

someone had imitated his handwriting, and anger surged within him.
“Ruth! Forgery is illegal! This agreement could not have taken effect!”
Forgery?
Ruth couldn’t help but chuckle softly.
Remembering the scene on the day they signed the agreement she could also understand his
current emotions, so she patiently explained it to him.
“If you don’t believe it, you can go to a professional institution for handwriting analysis to see if it is indeed your own signature.”
Garrett’s already chaotic heart was immediately tangled into a mess.
He stared at the three lively words, trying to find any mistakes or omissions.
From beginning to end, whether it is the stroke or the habit of connecting strokes, it is exactly the same as when he personally signed it.
He felt that the breath he had been holding in his heart was about to suffocate him.
He didn’t remember when he had signed this divorce settlement. Could it be that she tricked him into signing it while he was drunk or unprepared?
Now it seems that there was only one possibility!
Garrett seemed to have found a glimmer of hope, took a deep breath, and his tone became firm
again.
“You deliberately deceived me into signing without my knowledge, which doesn’t count!”
Ruth had long anticipated that there would be such a day.
She found the video recorded on the day of the signing and sent it directly.
“The matter of our divorce, between you and me, has been finalized and there is no room for
further discussion. If you have any objections or different thoughts about this, whether it is for an amicable divorce or to take it to court, you can contact my lawyer who will handle the divorce proceedings on my behalf.”
“Garrett, I have decided to divorce this marriage.”
