Chapter 13
With a beep, the phone was hung up.
Garrett’s face turned black with anger due to Ruth’s resolute tone, dripping with gloom.
He clicked on the video and as soon as he saw the noisy bar in the background, he suddenly had some vague impressions in his mind.
The next second, when a clear and unmistakable “Let’s get divorced” played from the speaker, Garrett felt his whole body freeze.
He stared at himself in the camera, sitting on the sofa and casually talking on the phone.
He nodded and answered with a “Hmm“, then signed his name neatly on the agreement. After that,
his whole body trembled uncontrollably.
In just a few seconds of video, he watched it only once, and those memories hidden deep inside suddenly emerg
That day, Ruth came to him for his signature, not for a property agreement, but for the divorce
settlement.
He was so preoccupied with the tantrum Anne was throwing that he didn’t hear a word she said and didn’t pay attention to what she was signing!
Originally, Ruth did not lie. This agreement was signed by him personally while he was sober.
Garrett’s eyes, filled with shadows, were instantly replaced by panic and confusion.
He stood up abruptly, grabbed the agreement, and ran downstairs all the way, driving a car towards
the Krause family.
All the way, his mind was filled with images of himself signing the agreement, and the last sentence Ruth said before hanging up the phone kept echoing in his ears.
No one understood Ruth better than he did.
He finally realized that he had really messed up this time.
After wandering in the realm of love for over a decade, Garrett, for the first time, experienced the anxious feeling of impending loss.
This emotion made him completely lose control.
The Krause family said that Ruth did not come back.
In one sentence, Garrett’s heart, filled with a glimmer of hope, was plunged into the abyss..
He called Ruth again and sent her a message, asking where she was now, but there was no response.

Garrett could not accept this outcome.
He drove like crazy, rumming through every place he could think of.
Over the years, the various places where the two of them dated, the villa she bought when she was angry, the old house, and several of her friends‘ homes…
After running around all day outside, I still achieved nothing.
And he had not closed his eyes for over thirty hours, feeling extremely exhausted.
He had no strength left.
But his tense nerves kept him highly alert.
He could only keep drinking coffee, trying to focus his attention.
Just when he was so annoyed that he wanted to kill someone, Anne’s phone rang.
“Garrett, why didn’t you reply to my messages? If you keep doing this…”
“Get lost!”
Upon hearing her choked voice of grievance, Garrett lost all desire to play along and hung up the phone directly.
The secretary who happened to come in was startled by his sudden voice, and the tone of her report became slightly weaker.
“Mr. Todd, Mr. Todd, we found out through road surveillance that Madam has probably gone to
Parnassus Villa.”
Parnassus Villa?
Garrett suddenly remembered that Ruth had bought a villa in Parnassus Villa before their marriage.
He immediately hung up the phone and rushed to Parnassus Villa without stopping.
The secretary on the side picked up the phone and wanted to catch up, just in time to receive a call from Anne again.
She watched Garrett’s figure speeding away in the car and remembered his previous instructions,
saying that she should keep Anne’s matters in mind, and then she pressed the answer button.
“Hello, Miss Duffy. Mr. Todd is busy now, um, he should have gone to Parnassus Villa. What time will he be back? I’m not quite sure…”
