Chapter 18
After the plane landed in Ustor, Ruth realized that Liam had already made all the arrangements in
advance.
The vehicles for pick–up and drop–off, the five–star hotels, and the butlers arranging the
itinerary….
Looking at this meticulously thought–out arrangement, Ruth felt somewhat surprised.
She remembered Liam saying that he was just an ordinary student from a regular family, so why
would he have connections and resources abroad?
But she kept thinking about the pocket watch in her heart and didn’t think any further.
When they arrived at the clock shop, the repairman checked it and said there was still a chance for repair. Only then did Ruth feel relieved.
In the following days, the two of them had nothing to do and spent their time traveling around, visiting all the tourist attractions.
Liam cherished everything here as if he had been here countless times before.
He could explain all the famous historical sites and anecdotes clearly.
In addition, the two individuals had previously encountered a few of his friends on the street and
were invited to visit the mansion.
Ruth discovered that he not only knew horse riding and tennis, but he could also give reviews on the exclusive wine for the Ecluoland royal family.
Ruth increasingly felt that Liam, who was now accompanying her, was very different from the fresh–faced pretty boy in her perception.
As the days went by, the doubts accumulated in her mind grew deeper and deeper.
Every time she wanted to ask a few probing questions, but when she saw his innocent and harmless
face, she felt like she was overthinking.
On the day of the appointment, Liam ran into a friend at the door, while Ruth went into the store
alone.
They booked the flight back home in the afternoon, so she didn’t dawdle and quickly grabbed her things and left.
As I pushed open the door, I didn’t see Liam’s figure.
There were quite a few people gathered in a circle on the steps a few meters away.
After looking around in all directions for a few rounds, Ruth still couldn’t find anyone. She had no
choice but to walk towards the crowd of people.
Before she even got close, she heard a voice that sounded a lot like Garrett’s.
“What’s your business?”
Upon hearing this, Ruth was momentarily stunned.
She looked at the crowded crowd, stepped onto the flower bed beside her, and then she was able to see the situation inside.
It was in
Garrett.
After a few days of not seeing each other, he looked much more haggard, no longer the energetic and confident person he was a few days ago. With red eyes, he grabbed Liam’s collar tightly.
“I came to find my wife, what’s your relationship with her, get lost!”
In contrast, Liam was much more composed. He glanced at Garrett and then raised his hand, directly knocking away the hand that had rumpled his collar.
“Ruth and you had already divorced, brother of the ex–husband, what are you trying to prove in front of me?”
As Ruth watched the scene unfolding before her, her heart sank.
It was not because the two of them collided and had a conflict.
But it was not because of Liam.
He always appeared obedient and well–behaved in front of her, although occasionally causing some minor disturbances. However, whenever there was a problem, he would immediately call her for help.
She always thought that he was just like he appeared, an inexperienced and indecisive little boy.
Did he actually have another face in a place she couldn’t see before?
So unruly, so defiant..
It subverted all her understanding of him in the past six months.
Just as she was pondering, Garrett, who was about to retaliate, was pushed a few meters away. He pushed a few meters away. He looked up and saw Ruth, immediately stopping his actions and pushing through the crowd to run
towards her.
“Ruth, why did you come to Ustor all by yourself without saying a word? Do you know how worried I was not being able to find you?”
Having been together for five years, Ruth knew that his current display of concern was genuine. Chapter 1
But now, she no longer needs this intermittent care that is like giving a sweet date after slapping
her.
She quietly watched him, her eyes as calm as a still lake.
“It has nothing to do with you whether I go abroad or not, right? Besides, I am not alone, I am with my fiancé.”
