The small inn outside the city.
Madelynn looked at the yellowed bedsheets, even with cigarette burns, and felt a wave of disgust. “Was this haunted place inhabited by people?”
Brenton held her tightly and chuckled instead of getting angry, “Madelynn, you are finally mine alone.”
Madelynn, however, couldn’t be happy at all. She forcefully pushed him away and said, “Shut up! I’m asking you! Why did you bring me to this miserable place!”
“Inside the city, there were people from the Baldwin family looking for you. You should bear with it for now, and once I buy the plane ticket, I will take
you abroad.”
Brenton leaned against the uneven table, lít a cigarette, and focused his gaze on Madelynn. Although Madelynn was a bit disheveled at the moment, she still looked beautiful in her wedding dress in his eyes.
He reached out and wiped the dust off her face, then grabbed her by the neck and pulled her towards him, kissing her forcefully.
Madelynn glared at him angrily and slapped him across the face.
“That’s enough! I wasn’t in the mood.”
Brenton pressed his tongue against his cheek, allowing her to vent.
After a moment, Madelynn calmed down and reached out to Brenton, saying, “Give me the phone, I need to ask about the situation at my mom’s house.”
Brenton directly threw the phone to her.
Madelynn took a deep breath and dialed Juliet’s phone number.
After the phone was connected, she cautiously said, “Mom.”
In the past, Juliet, who used to be the most beloved daughter, couldn’t help but burst into a furious tirade.
“You should have called back! Do you know that your dad had a heart attack and just got out of the emergency room because of you!”
“What a disaster! How dare you run away with someone else at the wedding! Now everything you have done has become a nailed–down matter, and our entire Bradford family can’t hold our heads up high!”
“You… You can leave, we, the Bradford family, don’t have a daughter like you.”
Juliet burst into tears and hung up the phone.
In no time, Brenton received screenshots sent by Juliet on his phone.
“Your mother sent you money, so we didn’t have to worry about going abroad.”
Madelynn looked at the screenshot, her face devoid of any joy.
She used to be the most envied woman in all of Chicago, but now she has to flee abroad.
How could she accept this?

Brenton didn’t pay attention to her emotions, only considering it as a temporary difficulty for her to accept.
He put out the cigarette and approached Madelynn, gently caressing her body, as the fire in his eyes burned brighter and brighter.
He lowered his head and kissed her cheek, “Madelynn, believe me, I would make you happy.”
Madelynn clenched her fist, and a few seconds later, she released her hand and encircled Brenton’s neck, embracing him with a smile.
“Brenton, I only had you, you would definitely help me, right?”
“Of course.”
“I had to get rid of Beatrice before leaving, otherwise I couldn’t swallow this anger!”
Madelynn raised her hand, her eyes glistening with moisture.
Brenton brushed against the corner of her eye and said, “Okay. What do you want to do?”

With that, Brenton kissed her and forcefully ripped off her wedding dress, pinning her down on the bed.

When Beatrice woke up in the morning, Caden was already not in bed. She sat up and saw at whole set of women’s clothes hanging on the hanger.
She still had to go to the studio today, but now it’s too late for her to go back and change clothes. I didn’t necessarily wear a bridesmaid dress to work.
I got out of bed and took off my clothes, when suddenly something fell out from inside.
Underwear.
Beatrice nervously picked it up quickly and then stuffed it into her clothes.
Who asked him to interfere!
Beatrice changed her clothes and walked out of the room.
Caden was sitting on the couch, looking at documents, when he glanced at her.
“Awake? It fits well.”
“Um.”
She nodded, but felt like something was off with what was said.
At this moment, Keith came out of the kitchen.
“Mr. Caden, Ms. Lindsey, breakfast was ready.”

Caden closed the file, stood up, and walked over to Beatrice. He pulled her to sit in front of the dining table.
“Wait a moment and let the driver take you to the studio.”
Beatrice glanced at the time and didn’t hesitate: “Okay.”
When she was almost finished eating, she sneakily glanced at him and kindly asked, “Uncle Caden, you took medicine yesterday, how do you feel today?”
Caden’s expression slightly tightened, “It’s okay.”
Beatrice reminded, “After breakfast, remember to take your medicine for reinforcement.”
“Um.”
Caden put down his chopsticks and stared at the person across from him. Beatrice noticed the gaze and felt a bit uncomfortable, “Why are you looking at me?” The man wiped his hands and whispered, “It’s rare that you still care about me.” Beatrice was about to retort when a bodyguard knocked on the door and walked in.
“Mr. Caden, find Ms. Bradford, she was fine, now…”
“Cough!” Keith quickly coughed, glaring at the bodyguard. Finally, a warm atmosphere was created, who are you?
The bodyguard was immediately at a loss for words, looking at Keith in confusion. Wasn’t it said to report promptly? Isn’t this prompt enough?
Keith’s eyes went black.
I heard that Beatrice forcefully put down her chopsticks and looked at Caden with a pale face “Uncle Caden, you deliberately let her go! Is this the consequence of her deceiving you? Running away with her lover? I deserve to be humiliated by you both?”
Caden remained silent.
Beatrice really didn’t expect that, even so, he had to protect Madelynn and retreat. Here, she couldn’t stay for another moment and, as she turned around to leave, her hand accidentally touched the medicine bag on the table.
The medicine box fell to the ground.
She glanced and found that the medicine boxes were all unopened.
He didn’t take any medicine at all!
Beatrice instantly understood what was going on.
She felt a tightness in her chest and took a deep breath, “You lied to me again!”
Keith hurriedly stood up to explain, “Ms. Lindsey, actually…”
But Beatrice didn’t want to listen at all and turned around and left.
Keith looked at Caden helplessly and said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Caden.”
Caden waved his hand and coldly swept towards the bouncer who barged into the door. “What happened?”

“Um… Brenton booked the flight for Christmas Day,” the bodyguard stammered. Keith frowned and said, “Madelynn, is this admitting defeat and running away?” Caden lit a cigarette and casually threw the lighter on the table.
“No.”
Beatrice stumbled into the studio.
Just as I sat down, my colleague immediately handed me a freshly bought coffee, and even her gaze seemed much kinder.
“Beatrice, I apologize for what happened before. We were also deceived by Madelynn, and we had no idea she was like that.”
“It’s nothing.”
Beatrice gladly accepted their flattery.
We will still have to work together in the future, and having a strained relationship would actually be detrimental to her.
Seeing her drink coffee, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and went about their own tasks. Beatrice stared at the computer, thinking about how Caden secretly protected Madelynn, and she felt a bit breathless.
