I parked my things, lay down in the guest room, and received a message from my menter.
“This project is perfect for you. You have years of experience and the ability to deal with unexpected situations. We’re really looking forward to you joining us, but we also know about your relationship with your fiancé, so we want you to think it over carefully.”
I didn’t hesitate and replied, “No need to think, I’m in,”
My mentor immediately called me. “It’s great that you’ve come around. Our team really needs you. If you do well, you’ll be contributing to the
country.”
“Thank you. Don’t worry.” Lcould hear his genuine happiness for me,
I didn’t plan to tell Lucas about my decision to join my mentor project.
After hanging up with my mentor, he sent me a bunch of recent related materials. The more I read, the more shocked I was by how quickly the data had been updated in the time I was away.
Yet, all I had focused on was Lucas,
Thad been busy revolving around him, taking care of his every need, even cooking for him, but in his eyes, I was still not able to compare to Vanessa. and he considered me useless-
I decided to spend the little time I had left reinforcing my expertise.

“I understand. Do you have anything else to say?” I interrupted his apology.
