Chapter 12
Julian tossed his phone aside after sending the message, closing his eyes with a satisfied smile.
He could already picture Olivia’s reaction to his text.
She must be going crazy with joy! She’d probably call him immediately, her voice trembling with tears.
Asking where he was, saying she needed to see him.
Should he answer her first call?
Or maybe punish her a little – wait for the second call. Teach her a lesson for daring to be seen with another man.
Julian decided that even when her call came, he’d make her wait. Smirking at his plan, he picked up his phone again.
He knew she’d cry when they met, overwhelmed by his returned memories.
He ordered her favorite cupcakes from that boutique bakery she used to love – that would soothe her.
Julian waited patiently.
But the cupcakes arrived, and still no call from Olivia.
He frowned. What was this girl doing? Hadn’t she even seen his message?
After some consideration, he dialed her number.
The call wouldn’t connect. He waited fifteen minutes and tried again.
Still nothing.
A bad feeling crept over him, and he borrowed someone else’s phone.
This time, it connected immediately.
The moment the call went through, before the other person could speak, Julian rushed out: “Olivia, why did you block my number? Did you think I wouldn’t use it anymore after the accident? Were you afraid it would make you
sad?
“Silly girl, I still use this number. Unblock me.
“By the way, did you see my text? I’ve got my memories back.”
Julian leaned back on the couch, smiling.
He could already imagine her excited response.
