Chapter 7
Seeing that she even brought the project plan with her, Elvis couldn’t help but feel curious about the woman. He wondered what the hell she had in her mind.
Her plan was so detailed, with proper examples, and even the pros and cons were listed clearly. She treated her marriage as a business. Was she at the end of her rope or had other purposes? Elvis never thought such a thing would happen to him.
“As a businessman, you should be clear that you will lose nothing on this deal. I won’t take a penny from you. All I need is your fame. I can raise myself, and the only thing I want to exchange with you is that…
“Send your mother abroad for treatment?”
“Yep! That’s my only request. I promise I won’t pester you. When your grandmother demises, or when you find your true love, I will disappear from your life without any compensation. I think I will be qualified Mrs. Grayson, and I won’t let you down.”
“You are confident about yourself.”
Nola gave out a sweet smile. “I’m capable of dealing with all kinds of people. Whether you want a clingy and innocent girl, a decisive and experienced clerk, a sexy and hot escort, a virtuous and considerate wife, or a scheming and intelligent woman. I can appear in any persona you want during our collaboration. Mr. Grayson, it’s a safe bet for you!”
Her self–description really aroused Elvis‘ interest in her. Elvis had never met such a special woman before.
She really did a good job marketing herself.
Nola wasn’t as confident as she looked. Seeing that Elvis gave no response, she added, “You will never encounter a woman like me in your life if you miss the chance. You should know that seizing the chance is crucial for a businessman.”
“The fortuneteller said that my widower’s peak would bring bad luck for my wife. Aren’t you afraid of it?”
Nola waved her hand and said in a relaxed tone, “You know what? An old man once said that I’m tough enough to resist all kinds of bad luck. How about we test who is stronger?”
Elvis acknowledged what she said that he would never meet such a woman like her again.
A dead silence covered the room again. Nola was a bit hopeless. She had risked her everything to say this. Why couldn’t the man show her some kindness?
to beg for
“I’ve taken the initiative. What are you waiting for?” Nola lost her impatience. She almost forgot that she had Elvis. She then blurted out, “Who else would love to risk her life to marry you except for me? I don’t have other intentions. You are so rich, and my mom’s medical fees are nothing to you. What the hell is wrong with you?”
She was about to lose her manner. It was her first time doing something on her initiative. If she was rejected, Linda would definitely laugh her head off.
She couldn’t bear to be humiliated like this!
Elvis thought with a frown. “How dare the chick talk to me like this?
I
guess girls are prudent about their marriages, but she’s an exception. So many girls are lining up to marry me, and some
of them have a special interest in my wealth. I apparently cannot decide on my wife in such a haphazard way.
“If you turn me down today, you will… definitely regret it. There will be no woman better than me in your life!”
Nola almost said everything she could to market herself. If Elvis still didn’t agree, she could only give up.

The two of them simply fell into a stalemate for a few seconds when a burst of knock came from the door. They b seemed to have a deep sigh. Elvis replied, “Come in
“Mr. Grayson, bad news, Old Mrs. Grayson suddenly passed out.”
Turning gloomy, Elvis walked toward the door without hesitation. He paused at the door and turned around to look at Nola.
He decided to make every possible effort at the critical moment.
“I can’t just trust you by your one side story. Show me what you really have. If you can’t even make my grandma happy, I don’t think it’s necessary to cooperate with you. I’ll give you an opportunity today,”
It took Nola a long time to come back to her senses. She immediately followed Elvis‘ steps all along the way. Sitting in the car, she still felt that she was having a dream.
Before that, she had never imagined that she would do such a crazy thing. The man who was sitting beside her was Elvis! She was not in the mood to enjoy the extravagant RV she was in. Her mind was stuffed with her nonsense she said in front of
Elvis..
She gradually felt a little guilty. Did Elvis trust what she said?
The car soon parked in the best private hospital in the city. Getting out of the car, she followed Elvis closely. She had to trot all the way to keep pace with him.
Old Mrs. Grayson had just been wheeled out of the emergency room and was sent to her VIP ward. At her age, her organs. had become weak. Being stimulated by the dust, she passed out and was sent to the hospital. It was estimated that she’d stay in the hospital for a period of time. After talking about some dos and don’ts, the doctor left the ward.
Nola stood far away and looked at the gracious old lady who was lying on the bed with her wrist intubated.
Elvis was sitting beside the bed, and Nola didn’t dare to approach them. It was a close call. But luckily, Elvis‘ grandmother
was safe now.
“Grandma, how do you feel now?”
Old Mrs. Grayson waved her hand and replied, “No worries. It’s common for old people. I delayed your work, huh?”
“Don’t say that. You will be fine.”
Having a deep sigh, the old lady suddenly found that there was an unfamiliar face in the ward, and it was a girl. She had never seen his grandson take a girl with him, so she asked Elvis who the girl was.
“She’s my new private assistant. I came here in a hurry, so I brought her together,” answered Elvis. Nola didn’t expect her to become Elvis‘ assistant in this way.
Old Mrs. Grayson smiled and waved her hand at Nola. “Oh, she’s nice. Come here, girl!”
Nola was stunned for a moment. Seeing that Elvis was looking at her, she walked toward the bed. Elvis‘ grandma held her hand and asked, “Sit down here! What’s your name?”
Nola replied to every question in a polite manner. His grandmother was wearing an amicable smile, and her eyes were giving out kind lights. Nola seldom had a conversation like this with her family. The approachable old lady gave her the
desire to talk.
Nola looked honest and kind in her plain outfit, which was the perfect image that old people liked. After answering the phone and returning to the ward, Elvis found that they were still talking, and his grandma seemed to be in a good mood.
Damion said calmly, “It seems that old Mrs. Grayson likes her so much.”

Elvis threw a cold look at Damion. He surely noticed that. Nola’s obedient looks now were different from how the acted that night. She was really good at dealing with different people as she said.
Nola didn’t leave the ward until it was getting dark. Old Mrs. Grayson said to Nola, “You are welcome here at any time. It’s boring to stay here alone.”
“I will!” Nola showed a sweet smile. She walked out of the ward, while Elvis was kept inside by his grandmother. The piercing wind was roaring in the corridor. Nola was thinking about where she could go tonight.
She didn’t even have a place to May now.
