Chapter 12
Nola learned from the driver that Elvis didn’t live in the Cirayson old mansion Breeze Garden was his private villa but few people knew it.
“Mr. Grayson prefers a tranquil environment.”
Nola nodded. She also had the same feeling Elvis wasn’t talkative and looked indifferent and unapproachable. Nola was afraid of him sometimes
Breeze Garden was built in the suburbs. The gothic architectural style made the villa extravagant. There was a large garden, from which a path made with pebbles extended to the backyard.
After the car parked at the gate, some people came out of the villa. The woman who took the lead should be the person in charge.
She opened the door and said respectfully, “Mrs. Grayson, welcome home!”
Nola was never treated like this before. After entering the house, she got to know that Elvis had arranged everything for her. The servants delivered her luggage to the cloakroom of the suite upstairs.
Alisa Norman, the housekeeper, introduced the situation there to Nola. Elvis didn’t want too many people to bother him, so he didn’t keep too many servants in the villa. The servants all came to do the cleaning from the old mansion.
Alisa stayed there to take care of Elvis‘ daily life. She lived in the yard nearby. When Elvis needed her to do anything, she would come to the villa.
The Breeze Garden was way larger than the Grant family’s. Though Nola didn’t know much about its layout, she could recognize that all the furnishing here was made of teak. Even the door was extremely delicate.
Every single furnishing in the house was simple but extravagant, just like Elvis. He always kept a low profile, but each stuff could match his noble status.
The living room, kitchen, and dining room were on the first floor. The main suite and the study were on the second floor. The guest rooms were on the third floor, and the attic was on the fourth floor.
“Mrs. Grayson, Mr. Grayson doesn’t allow anyone to enter his study and the attic on the fourth floor. You are free to go anywhere in the other rooms.”
“Thank you, Alisa.” Nola still couldn’t get used to how Alisa addressed her, so she said, “You can just call me Nola
Alisa smiled politely. “I can’t. I should follow the rules here. You’ll get used to it later.”
That made sense. She had just moved here, and she was in no position to change the rules in the Grayson family. Looking at the strange environment, Nola was a bit uneasy. It felt like she locked herself into a cage.
Thinking of her mother, Nola calmed down. Since she had made up her mind, she gotta move forward.
When the night came, the lights in the whole Breeze Garden were turned on. Nola had a simple dinner and sat in the living room to wait for Elvis. Alisa returned to her yard, leaving Nola to watch TV alone.
The villa was extremely quiet. Nola didn’t have any idea when she fell asleep.
She couldn’t sleep soundly in the unfamiliar place. Hearing the rustle at the gate, she woke up.
Nola rubbed her eyes and subconsciously said, “You are back!”
Both of them were stunned by her words. After she finished, Nola then realized that she had put it too naturally, as if she was

really a woman who was waiting for her husband to come home,
She looked up at Elvis in a daze. She felt that Elvis even brought the cold air inside the house.
Elvis didn’t expect Nola to wait for him to come back. It seemed that she had fallen asleep just now.
He thought, “What a stupid woman. Why didn’t she go to bed since she was sleepy?”
Elvis had been used to his life alone. Seeing a woman waiting for him to get off work and come home, Elvis had a special feeling. He didn’t even know how to describe that feeling.
He pursed his lips and stood in front of Nola. At that moment, he found that Nola was sitting on the carpet.
Elvis asked with a frown, “Why are you sitting on the floor?” Didn’t she feel it was cold?
Being stared at like this, Nola was uneasy. She sat on the floor and watched TV before but gradually fell asleep like this.
Hearing Elvis‘ question, Nola instantly rose to her feet. But she had kept the gesture for too long, and her legs turned numb.
Nola failed to stand still and fell down with a shout. Elvis reached out his arms and held Nola into his embrace.
“Are you an idiot?” Elvis thought he was fooled by the woman. She was not intelligent at all.
“Sorry! 1… I fell asleep just now, and I can’t feel my legs. Nola looked up and explained to Elvis. Under the bright lights, they clung to each other. Nola soon blushed.
Nola felt that her life was worth it being held by such a hunk.
“Stop drooling!”
“Huh?” Nola came back to her senses. She touched her face, only to find that Elvis was making fun of her. She rolled her eyes at him. It was unbelievable that such a cold man could tease her.
“What time is it now?” Nola broke the ice.
A deep voice sounded. “It’s past 12 o’clock.”
“You worked this late?”
“Uh–huh. Seeing that Nola hadn’t taken a shower, Elvis asked, “Can you cook?”
Nola nodded stillly. “A little, but I don’t know…
“I’m starving!”
Nola completely sobered up and left his arms. She sorted out her clothing and asked, “Is spaghetti OK? Wait for a while.” Elvis said alright and looked at the petite figure trotting into the kitchen. He felt warm and cozy when he held the girl in his arms just now. And now, he even felt a sense of disappointment.
He then heard the noise coming from the kitchen. Elvis came upstairs with his briefcase. When he got down again and saw Nola’s figure walking back and forth in the kitchen, he felt warm in his heart. It didn’t seem to be a terrible thing to have one more hostess in this villa.
When Nola turned off the cooker, Elvis moved his eyes away.
“Enjoy it!” In Nola’s opinion, a successful man like Elvis should lead the best life with too many servants taking care of him. But she found that Elvis‘ life was way different from what she thought. He owned a lot because he had worked harder than

She suddenly had a feeling that Elvis‘ life wasn’t that easy.
Each person had his own hardships. Nola watched Elvis have the spaghetti she cooked without expression. Her first night in the villa was quite harmonious. If such harmony could last, her life would be satisfying.
“Er… This morning… Nola took a deep breath and said, “I think I should confess something to you.”
