Gerald’s voice was gentle, like that of an older brother, showing extra care towards her because of her identity.
Aveline smiled gratefully at him, but before she could say thank you, Alexander’s gaze turned even colder.
“There are still two more cups,” he coldly reminded.
Gerald knew how important he was to Aveline, and his eyebrows furrowed. Some things, when taken too far, not only hurt others but also hurt oneself.
“Alright.” Aveline picked up the wine without hesitation, like a general who would never return, resolutely drinking it all at once.
The second cup of wine was like a poisonous substance flowing through her body.
The alcohol hit her too quickly, and Aveline’s body suddenly collapsed.
She thought she would crash onto the table, but instead, she was caught in the arms of a man.
Amidst the cheers, she was carried away by the man. Aveline mumbled in a daze, “Wine, there’s still one more cup of wine.”
Her body was thrown onto the back seat of the car, and Alexander stared at her with anger in his eyes. “Aveline, what are you causing trouble for again? Haven’t you had enough of this act?”
Aveline was dizzy from being thrown around, but she didn’t care about anything else. She knelt on the back seat and grabbed Alexander’s clothes, pleading like a child begging for candy.
“Can you please find Leo, he’s the only person who can perform a craniotomy for my father. I will pay back what my father owes you myself.”
Alexander looked down at Aveline, who was showing signs of drunkenness. A faint blush appeared on her pale face. Even though she was clearly out of control, she still tried her best to stay awake.
“Please Alexander… The only family I have left is my father. I’m begging you, please find him.”

Alexander sneered “Are you repaying? What are you repaying? Besides this life, what else do you have?”
Aveline let go of her hand and looked at him helplessly. “Alexander, what do I have to do to make you satisfied?”
“Nothing, no matter what you do, it won’t change the fact that my sister is already dead, Aveline. I don’t want you to die, but I don’t want you to live happily either. Do you understand? The more miserable you are, the more I feel that life has a tiny bit of value.”

Tears rolled down her face in large drops.
Aveline’s pitiful and obedient appearance triggered a stir of tenderness and pity deep within him.
Especially when he saw her tears, Alexander realized that what he had said about wanting her to be happy was not true.
He impatiently tugged at his tie and reached out with his long arms.
Aveline was roughly pulled into his embrace, crashing into his chest.
Her already dizzy head became even more disoriented from the impact. Aveline was about to speak, but
she met Alexander’s icy eyes.
Without any warning, he sealed her lips, swallowing all of her sounds, forcefully and dominantly occupying every inch of her territory, making her breathe in his scent.
Alexander felt restless and uneasy in his heart. On one hand, he couldn’t bear to see Aveline happy, and he wanted to send her to hell.
But when he saw her struggling in hell, he felt no satisfaction at all. His heart felt as if it was blocked by a huge stone, making it hard for him to breathe.
When his thin lips touched hers, the familiar fragrance on her body slowly calmed his restlessness.
The two of them were like a tangled mess, the more they struggled, the tighter they became entwined.
As his fingers skillfully unzipped her down jacket, Aveline placed her hands on his chest.
“No!” Her face was filled with rejection, which only further irritated Alexander.
