Alexander thought that Jordan had brought him clothes, so he walked out directly. But when he turned his head, he realized that it was Ryan.
Without realizing it, he raised an eyebrow at Aveline, “We have a guest?”
Aveline was wearing pajamas, and Alexander was wrapped in a bath towel. It looked like a normal interaction between a husband and wife.
In this situation, Ryan was not a fool. He put down the New Year goods and left in a daze.
Aveline didn’t explain. The deeper Ryan got involved, the more dangerous it would be for both her and him.
This kind of ending was good for the both of them.
Alexander coldly looked at the New Year goods. “Am I not generous enough?”

Aveline replied, “I will give it to the garbage collector later.”
“He comes often?”
“He came when I had a cold.”

When Alexander finished packing up and left, she couldn’t help but ask, “What about Leo’s matter?”
“I found the answer for you.”

Aveline sat slumped on the sofa, tilted her head back, closed her eyes, and breathed a sigh of relief.
In the afternoon, Ryan received a call from home. His father said that there was an opportunity for him to study abroad. As long as he went abroad for a few years, he could directly take over as the dean when he returned.
“Sorry, Dad, I don’t want to go abroad for now.”
“This is such a good opportunity. I fought hard to get it for you. There are only three spots in the whole country.”
Ryan smirked and said, “This opportunity was given by Alexander, right?”
“I don’t know what happened between you and Mr. Sterling. He personally informed me. Even if you don’t think for yourself, think for the Lin family, think about your younger brother and sister.”
Ryan, who had always been obedient, fell silent. Ryan’s father sensed his eldest son’s low mood on the other end of the phone and softened his tone, “You know about the Blue Spring Hospital, right? It’s a hot project. He actually proposed to cooperate. You should understand what this means.”
“I know.”
Not getting a response from his son, Ryan’s father asked helplessly, “What’s keeping you here? Why can’t you leave?”
Ryan stood up from his chair, stood with his hands behind his back, and looked out the window at the busy scene of nurses and patients. He sighed softly, “I want to accompany someone on their final journey.”
Ryan’s father was speechless. His son was usually obedient, and as an enlightened father, he shouldn’t interfere in his son’s personal matters.
But he couldn’t afford to offend the Sterling family, especially Alexander.
Thinking of what he had witnessed in the morning, Ryan should have realized Alexander’s terrifying possessiveness towards Aveline.

Aveline finally managed to escape from those terrible days and her life was finally back on track. The next morning, she went to the hospital to see his father.
The nurse was wiping his face, and Aveline took the towel from her, “I’ll do it.”
The nurse didn’t stop her either. Aveline saw two bouquets of orchids, which Anthony liked, by the bedside.
“Someone came?” she asked.
“Yes, Dr. Locksley came to visit Mr. Blackwood yesterday. When I was cleaning the room, I happened to hear him talking to Mr. Blackwood’s attending physician. Dr. Locksley said he’s going abroad for further studies and won’t be able to see him for a long time.”
Aveline’s hand holding the damp towel paused slightly. She knew the reason behind it.
“I see.”
The nurse couldn’t see her expression and continued, “Dr. Locksley is a good person.”
“I know.”
“If Miss wants to start a family, I think he…”
