Chapter 51
The car was about to arrive under the building when Nola told Elvis to stop.
“I want to get off here! I won’t go into the office with you. It wouldn’t be good if someone saw you.”
“What’s so bad? Can’t we announce our relationship?”
“I don’t care. I’m getting off here. This is the recruiting exam. If I fail, you’ll be humiliated. Mr. Grayson, you have to treat everyone the same and not give the impression that you’re being biased.”
Elvis had to stop the car at the side of the road.
“Good luck!”
“Thanks!” Nola waved and crossed over the crosswalk. Looking at the skyscrapers, she felt like her brand–new life had begun.
She no longer had to live in the scheme of others. She would show everyone who was the real loser.
Many people took the first round of the Grayson Group recruitment test. As Nola watched people go in one by one, she got nervous. At first, she was worried that Elvis would secretly do something for her, but she was relieved to see that the people in the company treated her equally.
Nola would be sad if he let someone help her. If so, it showed that he didn’t believe in her ability.
The first round was the theory test, which was not difficult for Nola. She was well prepared for it.
The test questions were not difficult, and she finished them in advance. After double–checking, she turned in her paper. The staff told her to wait for news. She left her contact information and got out.
She thought she should be able to enter the retest. The retest was about the design work. To pass the retest, she had to rely on her talent.
Nola sent a message to Elvis, telling him that she had finished the exam. She thought that Elvis was so busy that he would not reply soon. But she received the message quickly.
She was walking with her head down, and Elvis told her to go up. Nola was messaging him, teasing him for not being a serious boss at work, when she bumped into someone.
Her things and the other person’s materials were dropped. Nola apologized and heard a familiar harsh sound of abuse.
“Are you walking blind? Do you know how much my new bag costs? If you damage it, can you afford to pay for it?”
Nola paused. This voice…
She looked up and saw that she had met Tanya at the Grayson Group. She wondered if this meant she was lucky enough to buy a lottery today.
She glanced at the things Tanya had dropped and saw the familiar design.
She squeezed the material in her hand and looked at Tanya coldly.
“So it’s you!” Tanya sneered and looked at her sarcastically.
There was a lot of news about Chase the other day. Yesterday, Tanya heard from her father that Cloud Building Material Company was being investigated. Her father was worried that Elvis was doing it for Nola.
Tanya almost believed it at the time, but always wondered if Nola was so capable.

Tanya saw the recruiting form in Nola’s hand and looked in the direction she had come from. It was the place where the Grayson Group recruiting exams were held. Tanya understood at once and was pleased.
Sure enough. Nola was not that capable of making Mr. Grayson make a big fuss.
“Nola, aren’t you already married to Mr. Grayson? As Mrs. Grayson, you’re actually coming to take the recruiting exam. It’s easy for you to get into the Grayson Group, and you just need to ask Mr. Grayson to help you. Or, does Mr. Grayson not care about you at all?”
Tanya mocked Nola recklessly. Her father had wanted to be polite to Nola in the future. Now, it seemed there was no need.
“What I do is none of your business. Do you think that everyone is like you who gets something for nothing? Until now, you still like to steal other people’s things.” Nola stood in front of her and looked at Tanya indifferently.
Nola felt that such a person was pitiful and ridiculous. Tanya always stole other people’s work without any worries.
“You are destined to work hard. I’m not. Javion will give me whatever I want. Nola, do you want me to teach you how to make men obey you? But even if you wear the most expensive clothes and use the most expensive bags, no man will like
you.”
“You’re so self–absorbed. You look like a clown! It’s against the law to plagiarize. If you don’t want to lose your reputation, you’d better not mess with me.” Nola slammed the file in her hand onto Tanya’s face. Tanya cried out in shock, staring at Nola in anger as she was hurt by the file.
Tanya thought, “So what if Nola is married to Elvis? How can she lecture me?”
If Elvis had liked Nola, she wouldn’t have left the Grant family dinner that night alone. Tanya was happy to think of Nola’s wretched appearance.
“Nola, you think I will be afraid of you? You’ve been stepped on by me for so many years. From now on, you’ll bow down to me. No matter when I scold you or beat you, you have to bear it, just like now.”
Tanya raised her hand, and Nola grabbed her wrist, then slapped Tanya hard. There was a loud slap in the aisle. As Nola pushed, Tanya stumbled and fell to the ground on her high heels.
Nola leaned down and cupped her chin. “You seem to have forgotten your last tragedy! Do you think I’m going to give you a chance to fight back, Tanya? You can tell everyone that I slapped you and I don’t even care. I will beat you anytin without thinking about anything.”
“Nola, how dare you talk to me like that. Do you dare let anyone know your true colors?”
“I’m really curious about who you can tell on to. Listen, I’m not afraid of anyone. I never care about you, the loser, who has to look up at me. Elvis‘ office is on the top floor, you are always welcome there if you do want to speak evil of me.”
Nola slapped Tanya again, making Tanya dizzy. “You took my design to negotiate a partnership, so you owe me this. I’ll claim the interest first. By the way, I am giving you a little more evidence to report me. Remember, when you see me next time, you’d better take a detour. Otherwise, I’ll see you once and beat you once until I teach you to behave yourself!”
