Chapter 30
I went inside.
“I need to tell you something.” I said.
“Hm please”
“I need to tell you about Robert. Listen, Mrs. Hailey. He has gone through a lot. I know him, I am his childhood best friend. He has been in the Mafia since he was 13. So, you know how he must be. I can’t tell you everything but listen to this. He needs someone to heal him. He he is probably in need of psychiatric help. We tried to arrange some psychiatrist but he denied. And.”
“Then he has married the right girl,” she said. “I’m almost a psychiatrist. I have completed my studies; I would have become a psychiatrist after a one year internship”
“Woah really?”
“Yes, and not to brag, but I was quite good,” she said and I smiled.
Hailey’s POV
“Are you gonna help him?” he asked.
Help him.
Can I?
You have to Hailey. As a doctor, you need to help anyone who needs your help.
But this process
He’s gonna huk
Uvery time I try to heal him.
What if I hurt myself beyond repair in this process?
I have to take the risk.
I know I can’t escape.
But this isn’t the reason I want to help him.
Because in his eyes I see something.
He is hurt.
He needs someone.
I have to be that someone.

Because it may sound stupid, but I’m sure he is not like this.
He is a beautiful person under what he shows.
And I have to remove this mask.
“Mrs. Hailey?” He asked, bringing me out of my trance.
“Yes. I will help him” I said. He smiled. “You’re an angel, Mrs. Hailey,” he said, taking my both hands in his.
“Angel, huh?” Robert’s voice made Max’s eyes really widened.
Robert’s POV
I was in my MO, Suddenly the alarm went off. Someone had entered Hailey’s room. I hastily checked the cameras.
Max.
You’re dead.
I headed back to my mansion and reached Hailey’s room.
“You’re really an angel, Mrs. Hailey,” he said to Hailey.
He was even holding her hands.
“Angel, huh?” I said.
Max was visibly shaking and then he got up and turned around. “You want to talk about this,” I said. He nodded his head and then we started going out.
I turned around to face Hailey.
“And you!” I said. “Don’t move” I added and left.
“So? Done seducing her?” I asked with a rough tone. He sighed.
“I beg you. Stop saying that. I–I… really Robert? You know me. I–I can’t-”
“So what else should I infer? The husband got out; her boyfriend came inside. That’s what the story is”
“No! No Robert, please…”
“I don’t even know how many lines you would’ve crossed with her!”
“Robert, stop it now!!” he yelled.
“You stop it! Stop acting like that! You were in my wife’s room in the middle of the night when you were sure I wouldn’t be there and were holding hands, what do you expect from me to infer!!” I yelled finally.
“R–Robert… At least… At least trust your wife…”

“She’s gonna regret this anyway,” I said slowly.
“No. No! L–listen. I–I will stay away from her, okay? This was not her fault… L–let her go…”
I chuckled. He should be punished for this. “You are gonna spend your nights in the basement from today, like everyone else. And you’re gonna call me boss”
“O–Okay boss,” he said. I smirked and left the room.
I’m coming, Hailey.
You crossed your limits.
You’re cheap.
Like everyone else.
Hailey’s POV
I was sitting on the bed.
He needs psychological help.
I can help him.
I have to help him.
According to my studies, I have to care about him and be with him no matter what happens.
I just don’t have to leave him ever.
Make him believe in love again.
I don’t know about his past, but I can tell that there’s this pain in his heart… It is clear. He has gone through a lot.
And I’m gonna help him at all costs.
“Corazon” his voice came booming in my ears and I looked towards the figure.
The lights were out so he was just a shadow.
“Hm,” I said.
“What were you doing with him?” he asked.
What kind of question is that?
“I he was just… you know talking about some stuff”

“Stuff? Like when you want to run away with him?”
“What?”
WHAT?
WHAT THE HELL IS
OH GOD. HE ISN’T THINKING THAT!
“What do you get from him that you can’t get from me?” he moved forward.
Oh yeah. Like you are the dream husband?
“Y–you’ve got it all wrong. He’s like my brother…”
“Oh sure. I believe you” he said.
But a psychiatrist can tell he’s lying.
Then I felt the bed beside me sinking. He laid down beside me.
“You know what?” he said. “I lost the most important deal”
“M–Mr. Spencer?”
“mm–hm. Yeah! The one for which I married you” he sighed.
“H–how did you lose it?” I tried talking to him.
“You’re coming to the office from tomorrow,” he said. “As my PA again”
“Okay…” I said.
Tomorrow is gonna bring a new surprise for me again.
