Aveline really thought she was going to die this time. After all, her body had gradually improved after chemotherapy, and her stomach had started feeling better. “It’s okay, I understand. It was just an accident,” Aveline said, looking at the needles in the back of her hand and the half–filled IV bag.
“By the way, is Uncle Anthony okay? I just returned to the country and was thinking of visiting, but I didn’t want to be too presumptuous,” Bryce inquired.
Speaking of Anthony, Aveline’s face darkened. “Not too good. He hasn’t woken up yet, and ordinary people can’t visit him for now.”
“I understand. Sis Aveline, you must stay strong. Everything will be okay,” he comforted her and then asked, “Are you sick? There’s a lot of blood on your clothes, but I didn’t see any external
injuries.”
