Zachary, however, was not going to give in. “If it’s not getting better after all this time, a minor ailment can turn into a major illness. I’ll accompany you to the hospital tomorrow,” he insisted.
“There’s really no need,” Lenora began, recalling the doctor’s diagnosis. “I was told that I have a chronic condition that needs some time to adjust to.” She looked at Zachary’s expression, taking the initiative to reassure him. “Don’t worry about me. I don’t shy away from seeking medical help. I’m genuinely not in a serious condition right now. If I truly feel unwell, I’ll go see a doctor myself.”
Hearing Lenora say this, Zachary could only nod/ “Don’t try to act tough.”

In the evening, after Zachary had finished his work, he stepped out of his study and opened the door to the master bedroom.
Lenora had already fallen asleep on the bed.
He tread softly to the bedside, gazing at the peacefully sleeping face that exuded a serene beauty.
She still remained curled up and hunched over.
He walked into the bathroom and emerged a moment later, dressed in a bathrobe. He lifted the covers and got into bed, shifting closer to Lenora’s side. Reaching out, he drew her into his embrace.
Lenora snuggled against him instinctively.
The sunlight streamed into the room. Lenora rubbed her groggy eyes and glanced at her phone. It was five minutes to seven.
She was alone with a bed that still held some warmth.
Zachary must have gotten up to go for a run.
Lenora got out of bed, got dressed, freshened up, and went downstairs to eat. Zachary was already waiting for her downstairs.
After breakfast, the two of them headed to the office together, just like countless other days in their marriage.
