Chapter 96
Chapter 96
In a trance, Deborah didn’t know how she got out of the office. She had never been in such a mess before.
She didn’t have to believe what others said, but Elvis said that.

He admitted he liked Nola. Deborah recalled Elvis and Nola were happy and intimate in the car, and no woman could make Elvis so gentle. Deborah really wanted to ask Nola what she had done to Elvis to make him fall in love with her easily.
Deborah couldn’t walk into Elvis‘ sight after so long, yet Nola did it easily.
It was too ironic. Now, people in the whole company were probably laughing at her stupidity and incompetence in private. Deborah was now the biggest joke in the company.
She dared not return to the office and let others laugh at her. It wasn’t something she would do. Even though Deborah had lost, she had to maintain her dignity. After staying in the bathroom for a long time, she calmed down. She was still the beautiful and elegant Deborah when she came out again.
Elvis liked Nola. So what?
He just liked her now. No one could guarantee he would love her forever. Deborah still had a chance. She couldn’t just give up after spending so much time.
If Elvis chose a better woman than herself, maybe Deborah would be convinced without saying anything and just stay by his side silently. But Nola was different. She had nothing good and was not as good as Deborah.
If Nola could be with Elvis, so could Deborah.
She might be more suitable for Elvis than Nola. She could be his wife and Mrs. Grayson, who could satisfy everyone.
The persistent Deborah still couldn’t understand feelings were beyond reason. Liking or hating someone didn’t depend on whether that person was good or useless. When people were in love, they were the best in each other’s eyes.
If a person loved someone for a reason, it was not real love.
When Deborah returned to the office, Nola didn’t look at her but could feel Deborah looking at herself with hostile eyes. Nola was still doing her work. She wouldn’t flinch if Deborah gave her a hard time.
Nola thought Deborah would make things difficult for her. But she took her anger out on Fiona, who never resisted. Deborah’s cursing came from the office. Just as Nola was about to send the sorted materials, she heard Deborah’s cursing. “You are so stupid. Why did you study design? As a designer, do you know what talent is? You just give me this. How did you stay in Grayson Group? Don’t tell others you work for me. I feel so ashamed. What was going through your brain?”
Nola frowned. Actually, there was no perfection for designing. Whether it was good would depend on one’s personal feelings. Fiona had worked very hard and was more serious than anyone else. So what if she had no talent? Nola always believed hard work could make up for one’s weakness.
Designers designed things with their own characteristics. Different styles didn’t mean they were not good. Deborah went too far.
“Miss Garcia, I… I improved it along with your instruction. You said contrasting colors could achieve visual impact.”
“You even talked back. Am I the director, or are you? You couldn’t do your job and dared to talk back. If I were you, I would have killed myself. With such qualifications, who gave you the courage to study design and have been doing it until now?”
With so many people listening, even if Fiona didn’t do her job well, Deborah was too far by assaulting her. Nola knew she

couldn’t meddle in other people’s business, so she planned to comfort Fiona after she came out.
Who didn’t have a dream? The world was filled with many setbacks, and people needed warmth to persist.
However, the following words made Nola restless.

“Do you think that you can learn some skills when you get close to someone? You need to learn professional knowledge and ability, not those crooked ways. Let me tell you, put your mind on the business, and stay away from those irrelevant people and others‘ business. Even if you have a good relationship, can you stay in the design department without worries? I’m the design department director.”
“Miss Garcia, I have always been working hard.”
“You work hard. You barely know your colleagues, but why did you only talk to Nola? Do you really think I don’t know anything?”
So, was Deborah implicitly criticizing Nola?
Standing at the door, Nola got a dark face immediately. Did Deborah scold Fiona just because Fiona talked to Nola?
Nola thought that Deborah was nice. But Nola overrated her.
Everyone heard those words. The next moment, Nola knocked on the door, interrupting Deborah’s reprimand.
“Come in!” Nola pushed the door open and met Deborah’s eyes. Immediately, fires blazed around, and everyone could smell the unusual tension from the office.
Was the war coming?
Nola was great. She hadn’t been here for so long but had made a lot of noise. Now she dared to fight Deborah. Maybe she would get over Deborah’s head one day.
Even if Claire was against Deborah, she had yet to replace Deborah after such a long time. Everyone wondered if Nola could do it.
Would she become a design director as an intern assistant? She shouldn’t be that good! That was a successive promotion of several positions, which had never happened in Grayson Group.
“Miss Garcia, these are the materials you asked me to sort out.” Nola put the materials on the table with dignity and respect. She looked at the design drawings all over the floor and picked them up.
Seeing her taking the liberty of picking them up, Deborah immediately became angry.
Thinking of what Elvis had done to Nola, she couldn’t hold back her anger.
“Nola, did I ask you to pick up the trash? Those in your hands are even worse than trash. Remember, you are still on probation. Don’t ever even think of me?”
“Miss Garcia, I know you are in a bad mood, and we can understand it. Time of the month. But I’m curious. Do you have four or five menstrual periods a month, and each time lasts for six or seven days?”
“Nola, what are you talking about?” Deborah blushed. She got angry when she saw Nola talking calmly. Deborah didn’t know what was wrong with herself but just couldn’t calm down when she saw Nola.
“Otherwise, why do you always pick on Fiona? We work for you, but we have human rights. You are the director, but just a director. You have no right to assault people so brazenly. Fiona can ́sue you. Didn’t you study law at school?”
Nola made good points and didn’t use dirty words. As Elvis said, Nola liked to reason and convinced people with reason.
