Chapter 436
Merl
As Caden watched the woman in front of him bend down, his Adam’s apple rolled up and down, his abdomen tightened, and even though he tried to restrain his breath, it was uncontrollably chaotic.
He reached out and held her chin, his voice low and magnetic, “I’ll take care of it.”
He found a small paper cutter from the bottom drawer since he was a child, and made a few cuts on the tangled area.
As soon as the line was cut, Beatrice pulled away from each other.
She lowered her head and looked at the hole on her sweater, thinking about how to fix it.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the man stand up and fasten his belt.
Although his movements were somewhat strange, he performed them lazily and casually.
Beatrice’s gaze swept over, inevitably catching sight of something else…
Suddenly, he paused.
Beatrice heard Caden’s deep voice above her head.
“Didn’t you see it?”
“I… I was just checking if the belt was broken! I wasn’t looking at anything else!” Beatrice’s tone was a bit explosive, with a hint of guilt. Caden looked down at her with a hint of amusement in his eyes and said, “Otherwise, where else would you like to look?”
Beatrice’s mind seemed to explode, realizing that she was caught red–handed.
She quickly got up and pushed him away, saying, “I’m going to the bathroom.”
Caden watched the figure fleeing, sat down and ordered a glass of ice water, tilted his head back and drank it, then closed his eyes. When Keith came back again, he had already returned to his usual cold and reserved demeanor.
“What’s the matter?” Caden set down his cup and spoke calmly.
Keith handed over the documents.
“Mr. Caden, once again you have proven to be prescient. Despite the chaos caused by Ms. Lindsey and Sara, all we need is to catch Sara, the troublemaker, and gather evidence to eliminate the Melendez family. Now Sir Baldwin has no choice but to entrust the matter of the mine to
you.”
“This is the data of the Baldwin family relatives managing the mine for the past few years. Once the accident is resolved, the actual power over the mine will be in your hands.”
Caden opened the file and glanced at Keith with displeasure, “There’s no need to mention irrelevant matters.”
“Yes.”
Outside the cabin.
Beatrice’s face turned pale, her eyes tightly shut in pain, and a trickle of blood stained her lips.
When Caden realized that she was the one who got rid of the Melendez family, she wasn’t as angry at Xander for pressuring her to drop the lawsuit.
Because her goal was also to get rid of the Melendez family.
Moreover, her abilities were insufficient to completely withdraw from the whole matter.
But when she finished listening to their conversation, she realized that she was still too shallow.
From the moment she became involved in the love triangle between Sara, Madelynn, and Brenton, everything was under Caden’s control.
