“Oh? Being so generous? Doesn’t that seem unfair to you?”
Lucas raised an eyebrow, flashing a mischievous grin as he spoke.
“I don’t care,” Celine replied emotionlessly.

Away from the hail of bullets and back to normal society, spending some quiet days playing along with her didn’t seem too bad.

For some reason, Celine felt a chill run down her spine at Lucas‘ smile. It was as if he were a wolf, and she was nothing more than a little lamb in his eyes.

As a powerful figure in the business world, she couldn’t afford to lose her edge. She quickly regained her composure and, with a cold and assertive tone, pressed Lucas for an answer.
“No objections! Hehe, who’d say no to such a sweet deal?” Lucas shifted his gaze away, leaning lazily against the car seat as he spoke.
The Rolls–Royce Phantom drove along at a steady pace. Lucas lowered the window, and as if out of thin air, a cigarette appeared in his hand.
He lit it up and took a leisurely drag, clearly enjoying himself.
“Sir, you might want to put that out. Ms. Xavier hates the smell of smoke, and no one’s ever smoked in her car before.
The bodyguard in the
front seat frowned, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction as he reminded Lucas.
“Not anymore,” Lucas responded nonchalantly, with a cocky grin.
Celine waved her delicate hand in front of her nose but remained silent, though a hint of disgust flashed in her eyes.
The bodyguard looked like he was about to say something more, but just then, it seemed like something was going wrong
“Stop! Everyone in the car, step out for inspection!”

Up ahead, the road was blocked by barricades, with several uniformed enforcement officers standing by, signaling the Rolls–Royce to pull over.
The driver complied, bringing the car to a halt. They stepped out to cooperate with the inspection, but Lucas remained in his seat, unmoving, his eyes narrowing slightly.
At that moment, everything changed in an instant!
The officers in enforcement uniforms, right after Celine stepped out, suddenly revealed their true intentions, transforming into ruthless attackers as they charged forward aggressively.
In a flash, the atmosphere was filled with murderous intent.
One of the assailants pulled out a dagger, swiftly bypassing the two bodyguards with lightning speed, aiming directly for Celine’s heart!
The strike was lethal and executed with ruthless precision!
In the blink of an eye, Celine’s two bodyguards hadn’t even registered what was happening.
Caught off guard, Celine widened her eyes in shock, her skin prickling with fear as she sensed the impending threat of death.
The dead end seemed to be inevitable, and Celine felt that she would die at the next moment.
Just then, she felt a sudden flash of heat on her cheek.
A spark shot through the air, barely missing Celine’s face, and it struck the assassin right between the eyes! His eyes widened in disbelief.
In his last moments, he realized that what had pierced his forehead was merely a cigarette butt!
Boom!
The killer’s body finally fell to the ground in front of Celine due to inertia, and the sharp knife did not touch Celine at all.
A fleeting look of panic crossed her face, but she quickly composed herself, suppressing the urge to
scream.
Seeing their companion fall, the remaining assassins snapped out of their momentary shock. They rushed over more brutally, their sharp knives flashing coldly.
After flicking the cigarette butt, Lucas abruptly shifted from his earlier relaxed demeanor, leaping into action like a fierce tiger to protect Celine from the attackers.
With a cold snort, he kicked like a battle axe, directly sweeping a killer away. The killer’s neck was broken and he died immediately after falling to the ground.
Another assassin tried to slip past Lucas to reach Celine, but before he could take two steps, a shadowy figure surged forward, delivering a powerful punch.
Lucas’s arm bulged with muscle as he launched his fist like a cannonball, smashing into the assassin’s chest and sending him flying backward!

Moments later, the air filled with the muffled sound of fists and feet colliding with bodies, as well as painful groans.
The atmosphere was thick with murderous intent–yet this time, it was not Celine who was threatened, but the assassins themselves.
