Chapter 5 Bodyguard
In just a few breaths, Lucas had taken down the group of assassins single–handedly!
However, at that moment, his gaze sharpened.
No, there’s still one more assassin!
In an instant, Lucas spun around, stomping his foot firmly on the ground before darting toward Celine, who was still in shock.
At the same time, another figure appeared to her left, a gun aimed directly at her head!
The person was none other than one of Celine’s bodyguards!
The other bodyguard had already fallen victim to a surprise attack from this very individual.

hand moved almost in syne with the bodyguard’s gun.
He gripped the barrel of the weapon just as the bodyguard’s gun was pressed firmly against Celine’s temple!
“Don’t move! Let go!”
The bodyguard’s eyes were bloodshot as he shouted at Celine and Lucas,
His gaze, particularly fixed on Lucas, was a mix of madness and fear.
He could never have imagined that the man who was supposed to be Celine’s date today was such a terrifying man.
What had originally been a perfectly executed assassination plan, one that didn’t even require him to reveal himself, had been single–handedly thwarted by a man who had seemingly appeared out of nowhere!
Celine felt the cold press of the gun against her temple, her body going rigid as her stunning face turned pale.
In stark contrast, Lucas maintained a relaxed demeanor, casually releasing his grip as he said, “No need to get so worked up.”
The bodyguard stared at Lucas at this time, his Adam’s apple moving up and down as he struggled to contain the turmoil churning inside him.
He looked at the lifeless bodies of his fallen comrades scattered around him, seething with rage as he thought. You killed so many of my accomplices in the blink of an eye! How can I not get worked up? Tell me, how am I supposed to remain calm?
“Step back! Step back!” the bodyguard shouted at Lucas.
His fear compelled him to put as much distance between himself and this man as possible.
Lucas shrugged indifferently and took a few steps back.

Seeing Lucas back off a few feet, the bodyguard felt relief. However, the terrifying power Lucas had just shown left him with no choice. He needed to incapacitate him to feel secure.
He pressed the gun firmly against Celine’s temple and threatened Lucas.
Hearing this, Lucas chuckled and shook his head dismissively.
Celine bit her lip, her face paling further.
“F*ck! Do it! Or I swear I’ll pull the trigger!”
The bodyguard, sensing Lucas’s refusal, panicked and shouted in desperation.
T’d advise against firing that gun.” Lucas replied calmly, casually lighting a cigarette and placing it between his lips.
“D*mn it! Do as I say, or I swear I’ll kill her! You think I won’t?” The bodyguard was completely enraged. shouting wildly in agitation
“Oh, you definitely would. You came here to kill her in the first place. But I’ve only known her for less than an hour, and you think threatening her life to make me harm myself will work? Don’t you think that’s a bit naive, my friend?” Lucas exhaled a puff of a cigarette, looking so leisurely, and asked with amusement.
Celine bit her lip so hard that it started to bleed. Watching Lucas’s nonchalant demeanor, a wave of resentment and despair surged within her.
While it was true that even if Lucas complied, the bodyguard wouldn’t spare her, his casual attitude only deepened her anger and helplessness.
The bodyguard hesitated for a moment, but then his eyes turned bloodshot as he realized his threats were futile. Desperation set in.

If anyone was going to die, it would be this terrifying man! Once he was gone, taking care of Celine would be a piece of cake.
At that moment, Lucas casually held a cigarette between his lips, his hands stuffed in his pockets, seemingly oblivious to the gun aimed directly at him.

Despair and mockery mingled in Celine’s beautiful eyes.
It was absurd that, despite the gun being fired, that man remained unfazed.
