After dealing with the two bodies, he obediently took Marisol to the main road outside and waited for a taxi.
Just before getting into the taxi, Marisol glanced at Lucas with a strange look, almost like a little fox
“Hey, give me your number,” Marisol said in a commanding tone.
Lucas chuckled and asked, “What’s the matter, girl? Are you falling for me? What do you need my number for?”
As he spoke, he deliberately looked at her with a suggestive gaze.
Not gonna lie, this girl has quite the attitude.
When Marisol heard this, she looked disdain and disgusted. “Ha! You think too highly of yourself! Don’t think I’ll let you off so easily. Give me your number. I might call you sometime, and you have to be available whenever I need you. You’ll do whatever I ask. Otherwise…”
As she spoke, she glared at Lucas fiercely, but seemingly afraid the taxi driver would hear, she left some things unsaid.
Lucas chuckled to himself inwardly, while outwardly putting on an unwilling, resentful expression as he told her his phone number..
Seeing Lucas’s frustrated, threatened demeanor, Marisol’s smugness grew even more. After jotting down the number, she shot him one last look before getting into the taxi with satisfaction.

The leader of the Xavier Group looked somewhat serious, with a hint of uncertainty on his face.
“Willy, you’re finally back! How did everything go? Who is trying to harm Celly? Rosalie asked her
husband.
Willy shook his head grimly. “Even though we caught one alive, they’re professional killers after all, just doing their job. We won’t get any useful information out of them.”
Hearing this, Rosalie frowned. “Could it be the Quinns of Waldory?”
“No. The head of the Quinns has his eyes on Celly. Even if he wanted to go to any lengths to get her, he would only resort to kidnapping! But Celly said these people came for her life,” Willy said.
“Then it must be the Allnew Group. They’ve been competing with Xavier Group for years. Celly is going to be your successor. It’s likely these ruthless killers are out to take her life!”
Rosalie speculated angrily.
“That’s possible!”
Willy pondered for a moment before changing the subject. ‘Didn’t Celly say that the man protecting her today is the one she’s on a blind date with?”

As she spoke, this beautiful woman began to vent her frustrations about her husband, belittling Lucas at
every turn.
She went on about how arrogant he was, how lacking in manners and upbringing, and how pathetic he
seemed.
To her surprise, after her rant. Willy remained silent for a long time. Finally, he thoughtfully said, “I think it’s best to let Celly decide for herself about her situation.
Rosalie was taken aback, her face filled with disbelief.
“What are you talking about? This is a matter of our daughter’s marriage. How can we just ignore it?”
Willy gave a knowing smile as he wrapped his arm around his still enchanting wife, who was now a bit older. “Rosalie, the son–in–law Celly has chosen is not as simple as he seems.
“What do you mean? That little scoundrel? What’s so complicated about him?”
Hearing her husband say this, Rosalie immediately showed her discontent, and then scoffed. “Well, at least that little scoundrel knows he’s not good enough for Celly and left on his own.
Willy’s brow instantly furrowed, his tone rising sharply. “What? He left?”
“Yeah, what’s the big deal? Why are you so worked up about it?” Rosalie asked, not happy with her husband’s reaction..
“You should have made an effort to keep him around!” Willy sighed, looking somewhat regretful.
Rosalie got irritated. “What do you mean by that? Are you blaming me? You, of all people, are siding with an outsider? That little scoundrel should never have been allowed to stay!”
Even though Willy ran a large corporation, he was afraid of his wife at home.
This had led to Rosalie being quite dominant in their household, and hearing Willy imply she was at fault made her defensive.
Before she could say anything more, Willy pulled her into an embrace.
“You old scoundrel, how can you still be so unserious at your age?”
It was clear that the head of the Xavier Group had long mastered the art of making his wife quiet down without upsetting her!
The night passed without a word.
When Lucas returned to his place, he unpacked his belongings and then lay back on the bed in a starfish position.
