Jacob writhed in agony, tears and snot flowing freely as he glared at Lucas with anger and resentment.

At that moment, Jacob wished he could tear Lucas apart, though he didn’t dare to voice his frustration.
“Mr. Kane, are you all right?”
Celine hesitated for a moment before moving to support Jacob. After all, the Kane Group still had a partnership with the Xavier Group.
By this point, Jacob had completely lost his dignity, fully aware that he had no image left in front of her.
With a scowl, Jacob shook his other arm and yelled hysterically at the bodyguard on the ground, “Why aren’t you getting me out of here? You’re all useless!”
A few bodyguards struggled to their feet and helped Jacob leave in a fluster.
Before they left, the Kane Group heir had learned his lesson; he held back any further threats but shot Lucas a venomous glare instead.
Once they were gone, Celine frowned and addressed the remaining onlookers, “What are you still doing here? Get back to your work.”
As soon as she spoke, everyone hurried to leave.

However, at that moment, a deep voice called out, “Hold on, it’s not over yet!”
Celine stopped in her tracks, her annoyance clear. “Lucas, what do you want now?”
The others looked at one another, watching the CEO’s new driver, uncertain of his next move.

“You’re the head of security, right? Go settle your paycheck at the finance department, and then get out!”
Lucas pointed at Knox, his tone commanding.
At his words, everyone froze, caught off guard by Lucas’s sudden verbal attack on Knox.
Yet, upon reflection, they recognized that Knox had indeed neglected his responsibilities when Celine encountered trouble, so there was some justification for Lucas’s outburst.
But even so, was it really necessary to have him fired on the spot?
Even if Knox were to be let go, it hardly seemed like a driver’s place to make such demands.

At that moment, a stunning woman stepped forward from the crowd.
Tall and elegant, her hair was neatly pinned back, showcasing her long, fair neck–a striking figure.
With a face that could easily score a nine out of ten, she wore an expression of disdain and defiance as she addressed Lucas coldly.
Her name was Azalea Zephyr, the HR manager of the company.
Faced with such a barrage of skepticism and opposition, Lucas remained unfazed, ignoring everyone else as he turned to Celine.
“I don’t care about anything else, but as long as it’s about your safety, I won’t compromise.”
