Chapter 18
Lukas turned around in surprise and scanned her with his eyes like a radar, looking at her up and down. “Give me her information!”
The assistant took a quick look at Reese and immediately figured out her name. After all, as a designer with a reputation in the jewelry industry, he recognized most of them.
The assistant quickly made a call to investigate, and in no time, Reese’s information was sent over. He handed it directly to Lukas.
Seeing her name, Lukas Strakovski’s eyes flickered as he thought about her name, “Em…ilia!”
He emphasized the “Em” in her name, and Reese quickly nodded, “Yes, it’s me!”
Lukas didn’t respond to her and instead looked at the photo of the information, lost in thought.
Reese Roberts, a designer at Trifleming Jewelry, CEO Clark Joseph’s girlfriend. At the age of eighteen, she designed a piece of jewelry that sold well both domestically and internationally. Unfortunately, it seemed that she hadn’t produced any outstanding work in the last two years.
Was this… the death of a genius?
However, among the people related to Reese Roberts, her stepsister, Alexa Roberts, had won several
awards in the last two years. Just yesterday, she won the championship in the city–level jewelry competition.
Moreover, her design style was extremely similar to Reese’s!
In an instant, Lukas Strakovski had some thoughts about this matter. He had seen all sorts of dirty tricks in this industry, and this matter is no different.
He glanced at Reese and slightly parted his lips, “Alright!”
Reese finally breathed a sigh of relief. She married Lukas not for anything else but to make Clark regret it.
She wanted to make him understand that from this day forward, she, Reese Roberts, would no longer
value someone like him!
Since it was Lukas Strakovski, they took a special fast track to complete the marriage registration.
Everything went smoothly, except for the teasing remarks from the Civil Affairs Bureau staff when they were signing the documents, all of whom are saying that they were a perfect match.

Reese blushed a little at the time, but Lukas simply replied, “Different worlds!”
Half an hour later, Reese came out of the Civil Affairs Bureau as Lukas Strakovski’s wife.
Through the glass door of the Civil Affairs Bureau, she saw Alexa and Clark still queuing there.
Lukas Strakovski glanced at her. “Get in the car, let’s go eat first!” He simply stated, expressionless.
Reese pursed her lips and nodded. “Let’s go!” She replied.
They had just gotten into the car when Reese saw Clark walking out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, holding Alexa’s hand, looking upset as he checked his phone.
In the hands of Alexa were two newly issued marriage certificates – hers and Clark’s.
At that moment, Reese’s phone rang.
Lukas glanced at her and then looked out the window.
Reese opened the camera and took a picture of them before answering the call and recording it.
“Hello?” She answered.
“Hey, Reese, where are you?” Clark’s voice sounded urgent.
“I’m at the hotel. What’s up?” Reese calmly replied.
“Well, Reese, I just saw a media report saying I came to the Civil Affairs Bureau, and they even posted a
photo. The woman in the photo isn’t you, but they speculated that I betrayed you and came to get married to someone else. It’s a huge joke. You must not believe it!” Clark’s voice was filled with anxiety.
Reese’s eyes flickered. “So, who is that woman, and why are you at the Civil Affairs Bureau?” She asked.
“I… she’s just a friend. She asked me to bring her here suddenly. She wanted to get married to her
boyfriend! I was just trying to help, but who knew things would get out of hand!” Clark Joseph explained clumsily.
“Do I know that friend of yours?” Reese’s tone remained indifferent as if she felt no emotional connection
to the man on the other end of the phone.
“She… You haven’t seen her before. Her boyfriend and I are college classmates, but I can’t say we’re very familiar with her!” Clark continued to explain awkwardly.
“I see. I’ll hang up now.” Reese continued to speak indifferently, but before she could hang up, Clark continued to talk.

“Wait! Reese, since you believe me, let’s hold a press conference this afternoon to clarify the situation. The current situation will have a huge impact on Trifleming Jewelry! You don’t know how those idiots online are criticizing me. You must stand by my side!” Clark pleaded.
Reese’s lips curled into a sneer. Yes, she should definitely stand by her boyfriend who betrayed her!
Despite her boiling rage, she still forced herself to speak calmly. “Alright. I’ll see you this afternoon.” She then ended the call.
After ending the call, Reese fell silent, lowering her head without saying a word.
Lukas glanced at her. “Ex–boyfriend?” He asked in a tone that sounded like he was talking to a
subordinate.
Reese replied with a faint hum.
Lukas’s tone was indifferent as he said, “I don’t want you to have too much involvement with him after we get married.”
Reese raised her head and calmly looked at Lukas Strakovski. “Rest assured, I won’t. But you also have to promise to keep our marriage low–profile. You draw too much attention, and I don’t want to attract too much scrutiny.”
“That’s up to you.” Lukas said, as though it had nothing to do with him.
Reese looked away, continuing to lower her head in thought.
She presumed that with Luke’s unapproachable disposition, he wouldn’t speak again, but to her surprise, he suddenly asked, “Did Alexa Roberts use your design plans for the competition?
Reese looked up at him, eyes wide in shock. She didn’t expect that he would ask such a question to her. “How did you know?” She asked back.
No one knew about this matter, except for her and those two despicable pair, and no one else should
know.
Lukas’s tone was indifferent, “Anyone with a brain could figure it out.”
Reese still had not recovered from her shock. “Is that so? I thought…nobody knew.”
Lukas didn’t respond to her words but instead asked her, “Do you need help?”
Reese quickly shook her head. “No, I’ll handle my revenge on my own. However, you need to give me some time. After I get my revenge, I can completely cut ties with Clark Joseph. Trust me, I won’t do anything to betray you!”

Lukas Strakovski glanced at her, looking somewhat surprised. He hadn’t expected this woman to be so strong–willed. “Since you don’t need me to help you with revenge, what is the purpose of marrying me?”
He asked.
“To find an exit!” Reese replied candidly.
He nodded and felt somewhat impressed by this woman. “You can handle your revenge in any way you like, but since you’ve chosen to marry me, you must fulfill your marital duties as a wife. I don’t want a wife in name only…”
Although he said something so suggestive, Lukas’s tone sounded casual, as if he were talking about today’s weather.
