Chapter 6
Without hesitation, he threw away the ring, the flowers–grabbed his phone, and sent a message:
“Ana, I love you! I’ve never realized how madly I love you until now. Please, don’t leave me. I will give you everything–my life, my soul, my everything!”
The screen showed “Typing…”
He held his breath.
Then, a message appeared.
A divorce agreement.
Her words:
“Your and Xena’s child–I aborted it.”
“See you at the Civil Center in a month.”
Yancy’s world collapsed.
“No! That was our child!”
His mind went blank.
Ana was leaving him, and the thought spun wildly in his mind, preventing him from moving.
Xena clung to his arm, smiling as she reminded him:
“Yancy, I’m glad to see you so excited for me. Hurry up and give me the ring.”
Only then did Yancy snap out of his daze. His heart was racing, and he turned to leave without a word.
Xena noticed something was off and tightly grabbed him. “Yancy, do you have something urgent? Can’t you propose to me first before leaving?”
She had already announced the good news, declaring it to the world. If Yancy left now, she didn’t know how she would handle the situation.
“Yancy, I beg you…”
But Yancy forcefully shook her off, not even turning back.
Chapter 6
He sped to the hospital, running through countless red lights along the way.
Yet, he searched the entire hospital, including the morgue, and couldn’t find Ana anywhere.
It was as if she had vanished into thin air.
He kept reviewing the surveillance footage, and finally, he saw the familiar figure of her dressed as a
cleaner.
She had left earlier than he thought.
He chased her to a neighboring hospital, searched the surveillance footage again, and eventually found out that Ana had disappeared at a blind spot and never reappeared.
His nerves, once taut, finally snapped. When his assistant found him, he was slumped by the car, muttering over and over:
“Ana, Ana…”
The assistant helped him into the car and tried to comfort him:
“Yancy, your wife just left. She should still be in J City. Let’s call the police and spread the word on all platforms. We’ll definitely find some clues.”
Yancy seemed to grab onto that hope like a lifeline. His eyes briefly lit up, urging the assistant to act quickly.
In just 20 minutes, the search notice flooded major social media platforms: “Genius Go player Yancy’s wife is missing. A 200,000 dollars reward for any valid leads.”
Meanwhile, the two of them drove through every corner of J City.
Whenever he saw a familiar figure, Yancy would personally rush out to confirm.
But it was never her.
Soon, social media sent feedback with photos of people who seemed to resemble Ana.
But none of them were her.
Yancy’s disappointment piled up, his nerves constantly tensed and then relaxed.
Finally, at midnight, when he had exhausted all his energy, he broke down.
Staring at the screen of his phone, he saw a photo of Ana with a radiant smile, and he broke into uncontrollable tears.

Guilt and despair surged, choking his breath. He was like a dying fish, thrashing in suffocating pain,
“Ana, please, come back, okay…”
“It’s my fault, I’m the one who deserves to die, but could you just look back at me once…”
“I can’t live without you…”
“My heart hurts so much…”
The genius Go player, known for staying calm in the face of danger, brave and cool–headed as he dominated the Go world, was now crying like a lost child who had lost their home,
He tortured himself by calling Ana’s number repeatedly.
No one answered.
And he had already been blocked.
My body needed rest.
Under the secret arrangement of a friend, I stayed at a high–end rehabilitation center in Northern Europe where client information was kept confidential.
The harm caused to my body by the induced labor was severe.
I had just stepped out of surgery when my mom suddenly called. As soon as I picked up, I was met with my brother Matthew’s enraged shouting.
“Did you and Yancy have a fight? He’s been looking for you everywhere! Don’t you know that?”
“Didn’t I warn you not to piss off Yancy? If he leaves you, who’s going to pay back the money I owe?”
“Get back home right now and make up with Yancy!”
The pain was excruciating, but for the first time, I resisted. I mustered all my strength and shouted back, “I’ve divorced Yancy! You can go pay back the money yourself!”
I blocked both my mom and my brother’s numbers and spent nearly two weeks lying in bed.
My phone was filled with messages from Yancy trying to reach me. In the end, I just turned it off.
I spent nearly half a month in bed.
My phone was flooded with messages from Yancy trying to contact me, so I just turned it off.
Chapter 6
I asked my friend to send my resignation letter to the Go club where Yancy worked.
