Chapter 19
So, what kind of person was Finnian, really? Liliana’s eyes narrowed as her mind raced with thoughts.
The next morning. Liliana, bright and early, made her way to the film set with her assistant, Nora who, a slightly chubby girl with round glasses, was juggling what seemed like a dozen cups of coffee, clearly struggling under the weight.
Liliana slipped off her sunglasses with a flourish and announced, “Thanks for taking such good care of me yesterday, everyone. My husband insisted on treating you all to coffee. Come and get it!”
“Wow, Mr. Everly is so thoughtful, even treating us to coffee.”
“Mr. Everly really dotes on Liliana. He even remembers to thank those who help her.”
The crew, all smiles, eagerly grabbed their coffees, leaving Amara sitting alone with her script, her body slightly trembling.
Despite her efforts to brush off her emotions, being sentimental was one thing, but being reasonable was another. Hearing Liliana publicly refer to Finnian as her husband was more than she could bear.
She noticed Liliana glancing her way, a mocking look that made Amara’s skin crawl. Instinctively, she wanted to escape. Just then, a lazy, magnetic voice broke the tension. “Ms. Porter, are you and Mr. Everly married?”
Liliana turned to face Keith, who had unexpectedly asked the question. Keith was a strikingly handsome man, not quite as maturely attractive as Finnian, but still a sight for sore eyes.
She flashed a smile and replied, “Not yet, but soon.”
Keith chuckled softly, and anyone with ears could hear the sarcasm in it. Liliana frowned, puzzled by his
reaction.
“So, you’re Mr. Everly’s girlfriend then?” Keith continued coolly. “Funny, because I heard Mr. Everly has a wife. Does that make you the homewrecker, Ms. Porter?”
The crew, coffee cups in hand, turned their eyes to Liliana, their expressions a mix of surprise and curiosity. If anyone else had said it, they might have brushed it off. But coming from Keith, it was different.
Keith, with his wealthy family background, had made a name for himself in the entertainment industry despite having an empire to inherit. His reputation was stellar, a stark contrast to Liliana, and people naturally believed he wouldn’t lie. So, was Liliana really a homewrecker?
“I am not!” Liliana’s face flushed with embarrassment, her composure momentarily slipping. But being a woman who fought her way to the top, she sure had some scheming under her sleeves, and quickly regained her cool.
She had no idea why Keith was targeting her, but she knew better than to engage further. “Keith, you have such a sense of humor,” she said before turning to leave.
“Hold on a sec,” Keith called after her.
Liliana paused and looked back. “What is it, Keith?”
Keith uttered lazily, tugging his lips, “Aren’t you supposed to call me ‘Mr. West‘? We don’t seem that close, don’t
we?”
Laughter erupted around them, many bending over with mirth, even Amara couldn’t help but chuckle. Keith was as sharp–tongued as ever, never sparing anyone he took a dislike to.
Liliana trembled with anger, but she managed to maintain her composure, forcing a smile. “I thought filming together brings us close. If it bothers you, I won’t do it again.”
With that, she couldn’t stand the gossiping eyes any longer and hurried away. >
Meanwhile, Amara, feeling a bit queasy, decided to retreat to the break room for some rest. But as she entered,

she noticed Keith following her in and shutting the door behind him with a thud, his brows furrowed as he
looked at her.
Amara felt uneasy under his gaze and was about to speak when he broke in, frowning, “Why do you let them walk all over you? That woman just called your man her husband, and you’re just taking it?”
Amara lowered her eyes and replied, “Finnian and I are getting a divorce.”
Keith was taken aback at her reply. Amara and Finnian getting divorced?
He hadn’t expected it to happen so soon; it had only been three years. Then again, he never thought they’d last longer.
He quickly moved closer, patting her shoulder, looking genuinely pleased. “Bunny, congrats on breaking free. What made you finally see the light?”
Amara glanced up at him. It wasn’t her decision; Finnian had been the one to ask for the divorce. But she didn’t share that detail with Keith; sharing the same room with Keith still made her somewhat uncomfortable, especially when she recalled their past fallout.
Feigning sternness, she said, “That’s none of your business. Go and do your thing.”
