In another ward, after the door closed, Reese couldn’t help but furrow her brows, “What does Elías want?”
Ava shook her head, not wanting to discuss the matter. “It’s nothing. He’s just the playful type, and he didn’t give me a hard time. You should go back now. You have work tomorrow.”
Reese’s eyes flickered, “Alright, then. Take care and call me if you need anything.”
Ava nodded, “Okay, I got it. You should leave now.”
Reese left, closing the door behind her. As she turned, she saw Lukas coming out from the neighboring ward.
Both of them glanced at each other and then averted their gazes simultaneously.
Reese squeezed her fingers. She hadn’t done anything wrong, so why should she feel like she had done
something worth being guilty about?
With this thought in mind, she turned her head and walked towards the elevator as if nothing had
happened.
Lukas followed her silently.
Both of them stepped into the elev
ator at the same time, and Reese felt a bit uneasy seeing their two
reflections on the elevator wall.
Ever since Lukas warned her not to have any improper thoughts, she had felt suffocated whenever she
was with him.
She moved to the side a bit, and Lukas couldn’t help but frown, “Am I that terrifying?”
Reese’s foot slightly stiffened, “Mr. Strakovski, you’re overthinking.”
Lukas looked at Reese like that, feeling inexplicably annoyed, “Outside of working hours, you don’t need
to address me like that.”
Reese nodded, “Okay, Mr. Strakovski.”
Lukas’s face darkened, and he didn’t continue to correct her, “You don’t need to avoid me like this. I won’t devour you.”

Lukas’s expression remained stern as he heard her continue, “By the way, this afternoon, when I invited Mr. Schmidt to have lunch, I didn’t know that you were in the neighboring ward. If I had known, I would have definitely rejected Mr. Schmidt’s invitation.”
Reese made it clear that this afternoon, she didn’t invite Lukas to the neighboring ward for lunch, nor did she have any intention of initiating a conversation with him.

Just then, the elevator door opened, and he snorted coldly, striding towards the parking lot.

Why was he so temperamental?
She pouted and walked towards her car.

Seeing his car leave as fast as he lost his temper, she started her car and slowly drove away from the
hospital in the dark night.
Reese thought that Lukas must have gone home before her.
However, when she returned, Lukas had just entered and put down the car keys.
As Reese changed her shoes after entering, she saw Lukas walk into the living room.
She was about to change her shoes and go upstairs when she heard the housekeeper say to Lukas, “Sir, I’ve bought the shower gel and shampoo you wanted.”
Reese instantly recalled this morning, when Lukas asked her about her shampoo and shower gel preferences.
Her steps faltered, and she subconsciously looked at Lukas and the housekeeper.
Seeing Reese’s gaze, Lukas suddenly became uncomfortable. His face was a little red, and his tone wasn’t

Reese’s eyes flickered. Was it just her imagination?
Why did she feel that Lukas was a little embarrassed and angry?

To save him from using products that are too girly and getting angry with the housekeeper.
Lukas stiffly replied, “No need.”
With that, he walked upstairs.
Reese couldn’t hold back anymore and rolled her eyes, casually going upstairs.
In Lukas’s room, he picked up the newly purchased shower gel and shampoo, glanced at the names–the
same as the ones Reese mentioned in the morning.
He took off his clothes and started taking a shower.
Before, he was clearly pretending to be picky and unwilling to use such things.
However, when he started taking a shower, he thought of the scene where he could hold Reese at night
and sleep peacefully. After a few silent seconds, he took the shampoo and started washing his hair
without a word.
After washing his hair, he frowned and stared at the shower gel in his hand. Then, with a somber gaze,
he squeezed some onto his body and started rubbing it in.
Lukas thought that if he used the same shampoo and shower gel as Reese, he would be able to sleep peacefully afterward.
However, he never expected that after showering, his whole body would smell so sweet, which felt
extremely weird to him.
Lying in bed, he tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
Finally, an hour later, he unwillingly got up and took another shower to reduce the fragrance on his
