He almost ran over and stopped Lukas. “Mr. Strakovski, what are you doing? What happened to Reese?”
Hearing Anthony address her so intimately, Lukas felt uncomfortable.
He looked at Anthony and calmly said, “She has low blood sugar and fainted. I’m taking her to the hospital. Why is Director Rivers also coming along?”
Anthony was taken aback. Today was his mother’s birthday banquet, and if he left midway, it would surely cause gossip.
But before he could say anything. Ava approached them. “Director Rivers, I’ll stay with Reese. You can go back.”

Anthony sighed in relief. “All right then, please take care of her in the hospital. Let me know when she wakes up.”
Ava nodded.
Lukas carried Reese out and placed her in the passenger seat.
As he was about to get into the driver’s seat, Ava stopped him.
With a cold expression, Ava asked, “Mr. Strakovski, what happened to Reese?”
Lukas didn’t want others to know that Reese had consumed something she shouldn’t have.
Knowing that Ava was probably aware of their relationship, he decided to be straightforward. “Why are you afraid that I’ll hurt her? If I really wanted to do something to her, do you think she would be unharmed until now?”
Ava was taken aback and instinctively stepped back.
After all, Lukas’s words made sense.
She watched as Lukas drove away with Reese and then turned to leave.
However, Elias followed her. “Ava, you’re a young girl, and it’s not safe to go home at night. Let me walk you home.”
Ava ignored him.
Elias persisted, “Ava, can you at least give me a reaction? By the way, you added me as a WhatsApp friend before, right? Maybe you accidentally deleted it. Let’s add each other again.”
Ava turned to look at him, her expression icy. “I did it on purpose. Can’t you tell?”
“Ahh,” Elias was about to say something, but he saw Ava get into a nearby car, start the engine, accelerate, and drive away quickly.
Elias looked at the sky with a sad face, muttering, “Man, cold–hearted women are hard to pursue.”
It’s just so challenging.
As Lukas’s car drove away, Reese, although unconscious, was in distress, whimpering continuously, and her body seemed to be involuntarily twisting.
Lukas had already called the family doctor at Hill Crest One Residence. However, halfway to their destination, Reese woke up.
