Chapter 73

The moment the photos leaked, Amara knew it was only a matter of time before a swarm of reporters descended upon her, eager to snag the first scoop

She realized she needed to find a safe haven, somewhere she wouldn’t be found. If she delayed even a few hours, she risked being surrounded by the press

With this in mind, Amara quickly packed her things, whispering to herself, You’re smart, Amara. You’ve seen through this mess. Now, stay calm and get out of here.”

She forced herself to suppress the storm of anger, panic, and sorrow swirling inside her, grabbed her bag, and made a hasty exit

But she was already too late. Just as she stepped out of the film set’s back entrance, a throng of reporters hidden nearby, cameras at the ready, sprang up like a pack of wolves, surrounding her completely

Amara was taken aback. She had peeked outside before stepping out, ensuring the coast was clear. Where on earth had they all come from

Excuse me, Miss, are you the scriptwriter Amarise? Could you remove your mask for a photo?”

Miss Amarise, how did you get those marks on your face? How did you manage to marry the show’s investor with those injuries?”

Miss Amarise, are you holding onto your husband to thwart Liliana’s plans? Have you and Liliana had any fights over this?”

Miss Amarise.”

The barrage of questions was relentless, making Amara’s head spin

Normally, she was a patient person, but being jostled around and hounded with infuriating questions tested even her limits; she was on the verge of getting riled up

I’m sorry, but I’m not the scriptwriter Amarise, and I don’t wish to answer your questions.”

She figured, with most of her face hidden behind a mask, she could deny being Amarise. These reporters had no concrete proof

But clearly, these reporters were not just some people to be trifled with; her words fell on deaf ears as they continued their barrage, undeterred

Then, a bespectacled male reporter asked a particularly humiliating question, Miss Amarise, given your hideous looks, have you had a normal intimate life with your husband? Is it true he turned to Liliana because he has no interest in you?”

The question hit Amara like a slap, a wave of humiliation threatening to overpower her. If she hadn’t been so composed, she might have lashed out

Back off! What happens in her marriage is none of your business!”

A sudden harsh voice cut through the chaos, and the crowd was forcibly parted. A’tall figure emerged, enveloping Amara protectively

The man, clad in a sharp black suit, had a face as striking as it was stormy. The palpable anger radiating from him, as everyone caught his features, they froze in their tracks

It was Finnian, the most powerful man in Wye’s business circle, CEO of the Everly Group. What was he doing here

Reporters gaped at the sight of Amara cradled in Finnian’s arms, then back at his thunderous expression, their shock evident

Could it be that the secretive investor of Whispers of Winter, the one married to Amarise for three years, was

Finnian himself? This revelation was staggering
