Chapter 90
The next day, Allison drove herself to the courthouse for a hearing. Just as she was stepping out, she bumped into no other than Shawn.
Allison shot him a wary glance. “What are you doing here?”
Shawn watched her with a look full of emotion, “I heard you were at Summit & Vale Solicitors and had a court date today, so I made sure to be here.”
Allison squinted at him, clearly annoyed. “Have you been snooping around about me?”
Hurt flashed in Shawn’s eyes. “Allison, I’ve been a mess these past few days. I can’t stop thinking about you.”
Allison sneered, “And why should I care?”
Shawn chuckled and pulled out a dazzling diamond ring from his pocket, showing it off like a prized possession. “Didn’t you say you loved this ring before? I got it for you.”
Allison recognized the ring right away. She had seen it in a magazine once and had admired its unique design. At that time, she had shared her thoughts with Shawn, but Shawn’s reaction had been different.
He had said, “Anything but a ring. I’m not thinking about marriage right now.”
Allison had felt let down. He always thought she was obsessed with getting married and dreamed of tying the knot with him every day.
Recalling this, Allison smirked. “Sorry, I don’t like it anymore.”
She raised her hand, flaunting the large diamond ring on her finger. “I only like the one my fiancé gave me.”
A flicker of pain crossed Shawn’s face. He already knew who Allison’s man was – Joshua, the most influential man in Oak Lake, CEO of Fisher Corporation, and the sole heir of the Fisher family. Compared to them, Shawn’s family was small potatoes.
But Shawn grinned. “Allison, you two aren’t even officially engaged yet.”
Allison frowned, staring at him like he had lost it.
Shawn shrugged, “Allison, even marriages end in divorce. So what if you’re engaged?”
He narrowed his eyes, a hint of obsession in them. “Even if you marry him, I’m not letting go. Affairs are the most thrilling, aren’t they?”
“Smack-”
Allison had enough and slapped Shawn hard. “Get lost!”
Shawn turned his head, a red handprint swelling on his cheek. He chuckled, “You hit pretty hard. Doesn’t your
hand hurt?”
“You’re out of your mind!” Allison glared at him, ready to leave.
Shawn blocked her way, “Where are you heading? Let me give you a ride.”
“Get lost!” She was truly angry, kicking at him.
Shawn stepped aside. “Come on. You weren’t like this before. Where’s that sweet side of yours?”
Allison rolled her eyes and continued towards the open–air parking lot. Shawn followed, sticking to her like glue. “Allison, I messed up before. I was a jerk, and I’m sorry. I’m trying again. Just give me another chance, okay?”
“I’m not asking you to say yes right now, but at least give me a chance. I promise I’ll be loyal and true to you

from now on.”
Allison laughed coldly. “Who cares about your loyalty?”
She reached the parking lot and stopped in front of the blue Bentley. Shawn looked up, stunned at the sight of the car.
