He explained Reese’s situation and promised that Strakovski Jewelry would provide a reasonable explanation to the competition’s organizers. In a couple of days, Strakovski Jewelry would clarify the 

issue. 

The other party was impressed by Reese’s design and agreed to the arrangement. After all, such outstanding work would not only win in their competition but also in others. Moreover, they were aware that Lukas, a prominent figure, was supporting Reese. 

Lukas had initially planned to go home, but he received a call from Martins. 

“Mr. Strakovski, while investigating the incident with Miss Roberts’s design being swapped, I discovered that the surveillance videos at the company’s front desk were tampered with,” Martins’s voice sounded 

serious. 

Lukas’s expression turned cold. “So, you mean someone from within the company is responsible?” 

Martins replied objectively, “It’s highly possible. 

Lukas remained silent for a moment. “First, go to the design department’s front desk and investigate the situation. Then, have someone try to restore the tampered surveillance video. If someone from within the company is behind this, they will surely leave some clues.” 

Lukas paused, his eyes chilling. “And we cannot keep such troublemakers in the company.” 

Martins quickly nodded. “Understood, Mr. Strakovski, I will take care of it right away.” 

Lukas hung up the phone and drove directly to the Van Eimeren family’s house. 

Despite being the youngest son of the Van Eimeren family, few people knew about it. Six years ago, he returned to the country and started his business, relying on his own abilities, step by step. 

Moreover, he used his mother’s surname, so most people couldn’t guess this fact. 

Lukas originally wanted to tell Reese that he had already submitted the printed design to the competition judges.

Reese was working on her design draft when Ricardo called. 

Reese didn’t expect that her designer had just encountered an issue, and Ricardo was already calling.

“Hello, what are you doing, Reese?” Ricardo’s tone was unusually good, something Reese hadn’t heard in a long time.

In a cold tone, she asked, “Do you have something to call me about?” 

Ricardo didn’t care about Reese’s coldness and spoke gently, “It’s been a long time since you’ve come 

home. Come back for dinner tonight.” 

Reese sarcastically tugged at the corner of her lips. “Dad, your memory can’t be that bad. How did you and Alexa treat me at the courthouse? Have you forgotten? I thought in your hearts, I was no longer part of the Roberts family.” 

Ricardo sighed. “Reese, you shouldn’t say that. No matter what unpleasant things have happened between us, we are still family. Blood is thicker than water. Don’t hold grudges like this. Dad genuinely wants you to come home for dinner.” 

“I genuinely tell you that I don’t want to come back.” Reese’s tone was firm. 

Ricardo fell silent for two seconds. “What if I say your uncle is coming too? If I’m not mistaken, you married Lukas to protect yourself from your uncle. He still doesn’t know that you married Lukas, does 

he?” 

“If you don’t come back, I wonder what I’ll tell your uncle. I can’t say for sure what he’ll think when he finds out that, for his sake, you married someone you don’t even like. What do you think he’ll feel?”
