Everly’s voice was light and cheerful. “Ms. Hartley, I’m already 

at the door.” 

Celeste responded with a curt “Mm!” before ending the call and setting the dishes on the table. 

Her throat and jaw ached painfully. 

She rubbed her neck, feeling a sense of emptiness. Nathaniel had been harsh, but this pain was nothing compared to what 

she’d endured before. 

With a sigh, she took a deep breath, her gaze growing colder. 

She had weathered many storms in her life, love included. 

From now on, men would have to stay out of her way. She had no room for distractions as she pursued her billionaire dreams. 

Celeste poured herself a glass of water and took a few sips, finding some relief in the emptiness of her chest. 

She thought her heart wouldn’t ache, but it still did.

Celeste put the food in the fridge and prepared the beef for 

cooking. 

After a while, Everly finally arrived. 

Celeste’s inner circle was filled with stunning people. 

The women were all beautiful, and the men were tall and handsome, embodying excellent genetics. 

Celeste had nurtured them all from a young age. 

Everly, at twenty–four, stood at 5.8 feet. With an oval face, striking large eyes, and full lips, she exuded an elegant, cool demeanor, embodying the classic “ice queen” vibe. 

Celeste, by contrast, was composed and reserved, hiding her thoughts beneath a calm exterior. 

She cherished tranquility and could enjoy solitude. She rarely trusted or accepted others, except for a few who had grown up with her. Celeste was relentless in seeking revenge and decisive in her actions. Among women, Celeste was unmatched in her dominance. 

As their eyes met, Everly noticed the marks on Celeste’s pale visibly upset. “Ms. Hartley, what happened to 

neck and 

your neck?”

Celeste wore a faint smile. “It’s nothing. Eve, I’m pregnant.

From now on, you’ll stay here to take care of me. Arrange for reliable cleaning and gardening services to come regularly. It’ll just be the two of us living here.” 

Everly stared in surprise at Celeste’s seemingly unchanged figure, which showed no sign of pregnancy. “Ms. Hartley, have you been mistreated? Who’s responsible for this pregnancy? If someone has hurt you, tell me, and we’ll make sure he pays for it.” 

Her voice was caring and gentle, like a soothing balm. Celeste’s mood lightened significantly, and a radiant smile appeared on her beautiful face. “Eve, from today on, the past is behind us. Let’s not discuss the baby’s father again. I’ll keep the pregnancy a secret and will give birth quietly. When the child turns three, I’ll send him to the training base, just like I 

was.” 

Everly’s surprise turned into understanding. 

She smiled softly, “Ms. Hartley, welcome back. We’ve all been waiting for you.” 

Celeste’s heart thawed, warmed by her words. “Yes, I’ll go rest upstairs for a while. There’s beef stew simmering in the pot; let me know when it’s ready.” 

“Go rest up. I’ll handle the rest,” Everly said, guiding her

upstairs, tucking her in with care, and turning on the humidifier before heading back down. 

Celeste fell asleep quickly, exhausted by the pregnancy. 

To her surprise, she slept through the night. 

Waking up hungry, she got up, washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast. 

“Ms. Hartley, you were sleeping so soundly last night that I didn’t want to wake you. Breakfast is ready,” Everly said, dressed in a black business suit and smiling warmly.

Celeste nodded and walked over. She thought about how she used to wake up early every day to make breakfast for Nathaniel and would get off work early to prepare dinner for him. 

Driven by love, she was willing to do anything for him. 

But now, that love had turned into disdain. 

Celeste invited Everly to join her for breakfast.

“Briar and Landry, you’ll be my personal assistants.” 

Everly was pleased with this arrangement. Briar had a shor 

tongue and was unbeatable in verbal confrontations. 

Landry, a top–notch hacker, could provide security and protection for Celeste at any time. 

“I have no objections,” Everly said with a smile. 

Suddenly, Celeste’s phone rang. It was Leon looking for her. 

“Celeste, let’s meet, I have something important to ask you.”
