Chapter 22

Cheryl was on the verge of exploding with anger

What was with Nathan’s attitude? It was like tutoring her was somehow disgusting to him

Her rebellious side flared up instantly

Fine, I’ve changed my mind. Go ahead and teach me. I’ve got so much I don’t understand, you’ll be explaining it for days.”

Nathan couldn’t help but laugh at how puffed up she looked

Fine, if she wanted to learn, he’d teach. He organized his thoughts and then began the lesson

Nathan’s perfect score in the most recent math exam proved that he had completely mastered the high school math syllabus

On top of that, with the communication skills he developed in his later life, he was able to explain things in a way that was even simpler and more understandable than the teacher’s -lessons. Cheryl found it easier to grasp the concepts

It was not that Nathan was better at math than the teachers, of course

It was because he knew Cheryl well. He knew her math level and exactly where her weaknesses

were

Simply put, he tailored his teaching to her specific needs

At first, Cheryl listened with a rebellious attitude

As she listened, she found herself understanding more and more. Everything suddenly clicked, and she felt a sense of enlightenment

WowDoes he know and care about me this much?Cheryl felt a mix of emotions as she got lost in thought

Even if Nathan had distanced himself from her, she was still surrounded by boys eager to grab her attention, like Justin. But no matter how much those boys tried to care for her, it always felt shallow. Who else cared about her in such a thoughtful and detailed way as Nathan did

He even knew exactly where her weak points in math were, down to every little detail

Nathan marked notes and diagrams on the papers with a pen. He outlined the key areas Cheryl. should focus on the remaining 20 days before the exams

As Cheryl watched his serious profile, she couldn’t help but lose herself for a moment

Perhaps because he’d been studying hard lately, Nathan looked a bit slimmer than before. His once baby face now showed a more defined jawline, and he had faint stubble growing on his

chin. For the first time, Cheryl thought Nathan looked kind of handsome

Especially now, as he was explaining the questions to her with such dedication. He even seemed a little charming

Nathan went through the exam papers with Cheryl, explaining each question and summarizing the important points. By the time he was done with the last question and glanced at his watch, nearly two hours had passed

Jasmine had returned from grocery shopping a while ago

She saw Nathan patiently tutoring her daughter and was careful not to disturb thern. Even while she worked in the kitchen, she moved quietly, trying her best not to make any noise

Every now and then, she would peek into the living room and smile at how well they both got along

From childhood friends, they were now experiencing the first stirrings of love. They’d eventually become a couple. It all seemed so perfect

She couldn’t help but feel that they were truly meant for each other

Well, that’s about it. The rest is up to you. In the end, it’s all about practice.Nathan stretched as he stood up and said, “Mrs. Ginger, I’m heading home now.He then made his way to the door

Jasmine was surprised. She poked her head out from the kitchen. Nathan, leaving already? Stay for dinner. It’s almost ready.”

Mrs. Ginger, maybe next time. I made plans with some friends tonight for the new server opening of Realm of Beasts,Nathan replied. Before Jasmine could say anything else, Nathan waved goodbye and left

The gaming excuse was, of course, just a cover. He simply didn’t want to stay at Cheryl’s house any longer

As soon as he reached downstairs, he heard hurried footsteps behind him

Turning around, he saw Cheryl, breathless, standing behind him. She must have followed right after him

Nathan frowned. Why did you come down?”

In the cool moonlight, Cheryl bit her lip, gathered her courage, and said, Nathan, I’ve been thinking a lot over the past few days. I was wrong that day. I shouldn’t have made fun of your like that.”
