Chapter 120
Reese was taken aback, her eyes showing a hint of confusion. She instinctively refuted, “I don’t know
him.”
Lukas felt that Reese’s reaction was a bit strange, “You denied it too quickly,”
Reese regained her composure, “I only heard about him back in college. After all, he was quite famous on campus.”
Lukas’s eyes flickered, “Is that so?”
Reese remained silent.
She couldn’t admit to Lukas that she had liked that person and was humiliated by his fiancee.
That was all in the past, and those things no longer had anything to do with her.
After a moment of silence, Reese placed the design original on Lukas’s desk, “Mr. Strakovski, this is the design original for the Morning Light Jewelry Competition. I’ve completed it.”
Lukas picked it up and glanced at it, “Not bad.”
Reese thought of Natalia and suddenly didn’t want to be too ruthless.
She asked Lukas, “Was Natalia arrested?”
Lukas frowned, “You sympathize with her?”
Reese could tell from his expression that he misunderstood her.
She shook her head, “I’m not that saintly. She harmed me, and I don’t actually sympathize with her that
much. I don’t have that much–overflowing sympathy. It’s just that, eliminating Natalia alone won’t solve
the issue if we can’t catch the mastermind behind all of this.”
Lukas’s eyes flashed, “Natalia was fired. Whether she lives or dies, it has nothing to do with me. As for the
mastermind, if you insist on believing in James, then I’ll let you believe what you want. I’ll continue my
investigation.”
Reese sincerely spoke, “Thank you, Mr. Strakovski.”
Lukas snorted, “No need. Just stay away from James, that’s enough.”
Reese bit her lip, wanting to explain, but thinking of what happened at noon, she didn’t know what to say.

Shortly after, she thought of Ricardo’s use of her mother’s letter to threaten her and had an instinct to tell Lukas.
After all, Ricardo wanted Alexa to enter Strakovski Jewelry, and this matter couldn’t be hidden from Lukas.
However, as soon as she opened her mouth…
Lukas impatiently furrowed his brow, “Why are you just standing there waiting for me to get up and send you off?”
Reese’s breath hitched, she hesitated for a moment, then looked at Lukas, “Mr. Strakovski, I’ll leave now.”
After Reese left, Lukas stared at the office door, tore open a mint candy, threw it into his mouth, and a trace of annoyance flashed across his eyebrows.
He realized that he had treated Reese with a bad attitude, and this was not a good sign. He needed to control himself.
Reese also realized that Lukas seemed to have some grievances against her. For the next few days, she tried her best to minimize her interactions with Lukas alone.
In the morning, she got up early and left. In the afternoon after work, she only went to Hill Crest One Residence after eating, and then she stayed in her room without coming out.
Lukas also purposely distanced himself. Even though they lived under the same roof, they hadn’t seen each other for several days.
On this day, Ricardo called to urge her.
“Reese, have you told Lukas about Alexa entering Strakovski Jewelry?!” Ricardo sounded impatient and a
bit angry.
Reese furrowed her brow, “I have to find a suitable opportunity to tell him. It’s not the right time yet.”
Ricardo’s anger surged, “What’s the right time, Reese? Don’t play tricks in front of me. Do you think delaying will help you get the letter from my hands? Let me tell you, even if Lukas comes to ask for it, there’s no way. If you want the letter, you’ll do as I say.”
Reese was also infuriated by his words, “Dad, can you be reasonable? I don’t have the audacity to get myself into Strakovski Jewelry and then arrange for my half–sister to enter as well.”
Ricardo’s cold laugh came from the other end of the line, “Don’t give me those inspirational words. Talk sense. Aren’t you married to Lukas? I refuse to believe that he wouldn’t give you face in such a small
matter.”

Chapter 120
Reese closed her eyes, “Our relationship is not what you think.”
Ricardo thought of Alexa’s current situation and raised his voice, “I don’t care about your relationship. I just want Alexa to enter Strakovski Jewelry. I’ll give you one week. If you can’t do it by then, I will burn the letter.”
After saying this, Ricardo hung up the phone directly.
Reese stared at her phone, feeling terrible. She didn’t expect Ricardo to be in such a hurry. Why was he suddenly pushing her?
With a grim face and a heart full of anger, Reese returned to the design department.
However, Victoria blocked her way back to her seat.
When she went left, Victoria also moved to the left.
When she tried to go right, Victoria provocatively lifted her chin and moved to the right.
Reese’s mood was already at its worst. She stared at Victoria with an unpleasant expression and spoke sharply, “Get out of the way.”
Victoria’s face changed slightly, “And if I don’t? What can you do to me?” She retorted.
Reese’s face was dark, and she replied with a strong tone, “A good dog doesn’t block the road. Haven’t you
heard of that?”
Victoria’s face turned pale with anger, and she clenched her teeth as she spoke, “Reese, why are you so arrogant? You’re probably not going to win the prize this time. Let me tell you, don’t be too self–righteous. Be careful of your own downfall.”
After saying that, Victoria turned to leave.
Hearing this, Reese’s eyes flickered slightly, and she grabbed Victoria’s arm, glaring at her with sharp eyes, “How do you know I won’t win the prize this time?”
