After Lukas finished speaking, he walked towards the stairwell with a stern face.
Elena hurriedly followed behind.
Reese and James didn’t have time to go downstairs, so the four of them ended up facing each other.
James was laughing so hard that tears came to his eyes.
Reese felt the air was filled with awkwardness.
Lukas’s face showed a barely noticeable hint of embarrassment, and his handsome face darkened.
Afraid he would lose his temper, Reese immediately pushed the blame on James. “I just got back from buying dinner for Ava. James forced me to come up.”
She quickly added, “I didn’t hear anything.”
Upon hearing this, James burst into laughter.
He supported himself against the wall while covering his forehead. “Oh, I’m really sorry. I just couldn’t
help it. It’s too funny.”
Reese was speechless as she glared at the laughing idiot. Could he make his laughter any more exaggerated?
He continued, “I mean, what kind of script is this? Talking about bed skills? Hahaha.”
Reese’s face darkened. She had said she hadn’t heard anything, but James exposed her lie. He must have
done it on purpose.
Sure enough, Lukas looked directly at Reese and gritted his teeth, “Didn’t hear anything?”
Reese felt wronged, not knowing how to explain.
She sensed that Lukas might be getting annoyed and embarrassed. After all, no one had probably seen through his act like this before.
At this moment, James was still acting recklessly, reaching out to put his arm around Reese’s shou “Don’t be afraid, Lia. Big brother is here to back you up.”
Reese reached to remove his hand, but James was like an octopus, taking it off only to put it back again.

Lukas’s face turned extremely ugly, “Reese, come here.”
Reese felt that Lukas was better and subconsciously moved towards him.
As a result, as soon as she took a step forward, James pulled her back.
James’s smile faded slightly, and he faced Lukas head–on, “Come on, Lukas, let it go. Lia is such an innocent naive wife, and this is her first time seeing your true colors. She never expected you to be quite the Harem King. Now that she wants to leave the harem, why won’t you let her?”
After finishing his words, Lukas casually glanced at Elena next to him.
Lukas’s face turned cold as he looked at James, his eyes showing a trace of disgust. “This is between me and Reese. James, don’t provoke me.”
James stepped forward directly, “I’m provoking you, so what?”
He turned to Reese and said, “Lia, did you see that? That woman is another concubine in Lukas’s harem. There are plenty of other girls like her. Are you sure you still want to be with him?”
Reese could clearly see that these two clearly had some grudges and were forcing her to pick sides.
But she wasn’t foolish. Why did she have to choose sides?
James blocked her way, and she couldn’t get past him. She turned around and took a step back to go
downstairs, “You guys enjoy yourselves. I’m going to deliver food to a friend.”
James was taken aback. He didn’t expect Reese to have this kind of reaction.
After hesitating for two seconds, he laughed, “Reese is really clever. She knows how to take a step back and will definitely be successful in the future.”
Reese quickly went downstairs, completely ignoring the expressions of the three people upstairs.
With Reese gone, Lukas coldly snorted and ignored James, walking downstairs.
James raised his voice and shouted, “Lukas, you’re not good enough. Reese didn’t choose you either.”
Back in the hospital room, Reese handed the dinner to Ava.
Ava was a bit surprised, “Why is the porridge cold?”
Reese’s tone was not pleasant, “It’s good enough to have something to eat. Don’t be so picky.”
Ava’s eyes flashed, “Who bothered you?”

With a tense expression, Reese recounted the incident on the rooftop.
Her face didn’t look too good as she said, “Do you think James is crazy? I’ve only met him a few times, but he always drags me into trouble.”
Ava paused for two seconds before speaking, “I have heard something about this.”
Reese raised an eyebrow at her.
Ava continued, “I heard that Lukas and James had a good relationship six years ago, but they fell out because of a woman. James also liked that woman, but unfortunately, she became Lukas’s girlfriend
later.”
Reese was taken aback, “Is that so? Where is that woman now?”
Ava shook her head, “I don’t know. I overheard it from someone else, and I never thought that one day I would meet them in person.”
Reese nodded in understanding.
No wonder James was going against Lukas. It turned out that their rivalry went beyond business. There
was also a complicated love–hate relationship between them.
Reese returned to Hill Crest One Residence after leaving the hospital.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw that only a floor lamp was turned on in the living room, casting
dim light.
Lukas lazily leaned on the sofa, his gaze heavy as he looked over.
