Chapter160
Ashley said, “Sorry, Grandma…”
“It’s okay. But cat properly.”
“Okay.” Her takeout arrived. She worked until 10 pm. She hadn’t driven; her driver should have arrived. He was there, but it wasn’t her usual driver; it was Chase’s driver. Chase was in the backseat.
Seeing her pause, Chase lowered the window, “Grandma asked me to pick you up.” Ashley got in, sitting in her usual seat. The car drove smoothly into traffic. Silence fell again. Chase was busy; his attention wasn’t on her. Ashley remembered something and asked, “Did they agree?“(About Tanya’s aunt and uncle) Tanya had looked uneasy at lunch; she guessed she’d agreed. What about the others?
Chase, still looking at his phone, “Yes.”
“Then…” Ashley hesitated, then asked firmly,“Can I buy that villa?” She wanted to prevent future problems.
Chase paused, glancing at her, “Okay.”
Ashley was relieved, “Thank you.”
Chase:“Hmm.”
