It was late. Although everyone wanted to keep working, overworking wasn’t good. Mark planned. to finish the remaining tasks and end the meeting, continuing later or the next day. Even wrapping things up would take a while. Chase had finished showering and emerged from the bathroom, yet they were still working.

She happily hugged him,

Fortunately, Ashley had just finished her work. She turned off her camera and was about to speak to Sam when she saw Tanya standing in the doorway.
Ashley stiffened, her lips tightening. Sam and Chase also noticed Tanya. Chase got up and left; shortly, they were gone together.
Sam wanted to follow but saw Ashley’s expression, which seemed unhappy, so she stayed, softly calling, “Mom…”

shower?”
“Yes.”
Ashley didn’t ask who helped her, just asked, “Tired?”
“Tired…”
“Go to sleep then.”
Sam relaxed.“Okay. You should rest early too, Mom.”
“Yes, goodnight.”
“Goodnight, Mom.”
Sam hugged her mother before happily leaving.
